25.01.2022 Never before in history have we faced such a barrage of information, expectations, pitfalls and stresses. Our minds were not built for this experience, and for most of us, our parents and teachers didn’t equip us to mentally and emotionally manage this 21st century world. Mental health, abuse and suicide rates are far too high. Addictions and dependencies are more common than ever. Some even say we are experiencing an unhappiness epidemic. In particular, AUSSIE BLOKES are hu...rting. Something must change. - Men average six out of every eight suicides every day in Australia. - The suicide rate among young tradesmen is three times higher than for other men. - On average, one in eight men will experience depression at some stage of their lives. In the 21st century we are looking for new ways to help cope with modern day pressures, expectations, and temptations. We are realising that traditional solutions and support structures on their own, just aren’t cutting it anymore. We are looking for new ways to help cope with modern day pressures. The great thing about how Authentic State approaches healing and therapy is that this is not a big ‘talk therapy’. Sure, talking has its place, but with a combination of traditional therapy and complementary treatment/natural therapy, I help people who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, addicted, stuck, or experiencing other limitations, to find their way to feeling connected and whole again. IT MIGHT BE A CHALLENGE TO STEP UP, BUT THERE IS TOO MUCH TO LOSE IF WE DON’T Read more about how AUTHENTIC STATE SUPPORTS BLOKES MENTAL HEALTH: https://www.authenticstatecoaching.com/blokes See statistical references: https://www.authenticstatecoaching.com/statistics-references #mentalhealth #men #centralcoast #centralcoastnsw #australia

23.01.2022 Are you unconsciously attracting emotional pain? Are you on the ‘love-pain’ merry-go-round? Spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle says There are two levels to your pain: the pain that you create now, and the pain from the past that still lives on in your mind and body. Most of us would say we want to live without pain. However Eckhart suggests we have a ‘pain body’ that seeks pain. And just like the needy monsters in the series ‘Stranger Things’, this pain body wants feeding. Th...e hunger of the pain body is only satisfied when we experience strong negative emotional reactions to the behaviour of another person. Does this sound familiar? Have you ever stayed too long in a relationship that fired emotional triggers like disappointment, anger, shame, unworthiness or another heavy emotion? Sometimes we can get stuck in a cycle of ups and downs. The relationship is great, then a trigger starts the bickering, arguing, hurt and pain, before things settle down. Then another emotional trigger starts the conflict and pain, and after some time it settles back down, and so on, like a ‘love-pain’ merry-go-round. Psychiatrist and psychoanalyst Carl Jung (1875-1961) told us we all have a ‘Shadow’ side; the unknown dark side of the personality. This hugely influential Swede believed to truly grow as a person, one must cease willful blindness to one’s own Shadow. Jung believed that by not wanting to look at our Shadow directly, many people project them onto others; meaning that the qualities we often can not stand in others, we have in ourselves and are not willing to see. You pain-body is part of your Shadow side. When we are upset or suffering from emotional pain, we often point our fingers at others in blame or as the cause of our hurt. Sure, he or she may have behaved like a dingbat, however it’s the extent of our reaction that is significant, the triggered emotion. Our emotional triggers and patterns today, are commonly set off from experiences and pain of yesterday... Want to read more, including what to do about your emotional triggers? 22.01.2022 People are more important than ‘things’ right? We give our cars and homes tune-ups and fix-ups, but often we don’t give our own mental, emotional and energetic well-being and health the same priority. 2020 has been a difficult year. So, this summer in 2021 we are running a 6 WEEK TUNE-UP CHALLENGE to support Aussies after the huge stresses of 2020. Across 6 weeks, through an online group (and VIP 1:1 option) Aussies are given the tools and space to shift heavy emotions and c...hange restraining ways of thinking. More than just combating worry and strain, this challenge will explore the complexities of the human psyche that hold us back from leaning into the greatest version of ourselves. Along with shifting unwanted emotions and limiting beliefs we will explore: Growth Mindset Reflecting on Priorities Reframing Your Thoughts Your Circle of Control Reinterpreting ‘Good Enough’ The Power of Gratitude And more THIS IS FOR YOU IF You are tired of your old habits, routines and ways of thinking that are bringing you down and holding you back. You want to feel less anxious, overwhelmed, confused, and exhausted due to the pressures of life. You want to feel lighter and lift weight from off your shoulders to enjoy life again. 17.01.2022 It takes COURAGE, CONNECTION and CREATIVITY to lean into our most Authentic State. So, here I am taking a deep breath, pushing my comfort zone and taking a step forward to connect with you in my first Facebook video, introducing what I do at Authentic State. I am Sasha and Authentic State is my healing, transformational and business coaching brand. Authentic state is about empowering people, like you, and businesses to thrive at this very interesting and unprecedented time, ...with its own unique pressures and distractions. You may think it is an odd mix healing and transformational and business coaching, which sometimes I apply independently or merge, depending on who you are, and what your needs and goals are. But I believe when we heal and empower ourselves we are better role models, decision makers and human beings, and we are better equipped to create a greater world, in our homes, in our workplaces, in our communities and this earthly world (of which we are all temporary caretakers). Essentially I help blokes and women shift personal trauma, grief, anxiety, addictions and much more. And help visionaries, artists, female-led and social-good businesses pivotal and thrive. If you would like support or guidance in leaning into your most Authentic State or in stepping forward in your mental health or business health. You can get in touch with me. In the meantime. Let me ask you, what is one thing you could do for yourself this week that could create a positive ripple effect for others? Ok, I'd love to hear your thoughts so comment below. And I'll see you next time...!

17.01.2022 Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate. What does this mean? I believe your unconscious mind is your greatest untapped power, unrealized tool and key to your destiny. Your unconscious mind must be acknowledged, unveiled, nurtured, protected, tamed most of all programmed by you. ...Continue reading

17.01.2022 Remember how it felt as a kid, walking barefoot on the earth? You didn't know back then that walking outdoors barefoot has scientifically proven benefits like reducing stress and chronic pain, improving sleep and boosting energy ... 16.01.2022 This week Australia acknowledged both Naidoc Week and Remembrance Day. It makes me think about 'holding space'. Holding space is when we are physically, mentally and emotionally present for someone, as they experience their feelings. Holding space is about being with someone without judgement and not trying to ‘fix’ them. We can hold space in our families, with mates, with loved ones, and with people we cross paths with as they share their experiences and stories.... Sometimes it is just sitting with someone and listening. We can focus on their story, ‘listen to understand’, temporarily putting our own needs and opinions to the side. What do you think would happen if we all tried to ‘hold space’ for each other more often? How would this affect our relationships, families, communities, and our world? Sometimes we may need to look outside of our family, friends and loved ones to be heard without judgement and for someone to ‘hold space’ for us. And that’s ok too. 08.01.2022 I was a ‘sensitive’ child. I found that my emotions were a tremendous roller-coaster of highs and lows. As an adult I’ve had to learn to manage this double edge sword. And wouldn’t have it any other way today . On one hand deep emotions roll through me like the ebb and flow of the tides, on the other hand I can be extremely intuitive, insightful, creative and connected to nature and the world around me. Our problems often come when we push down our painful or difficult feeli...ngs (with drugs, food, drink, distractions etc), smothering and covering them. Be warned, in doing this, FEELINGS WILL NOT DISAPPEAR. They are likely to compress and compile until they manifest as an emotional explosion or illness. 2020 Mental Health Month is themed ‘Tuning In’. As a Self Directed Healing practitioner and coach, here’s a gold tip to honoring who you are at the core of you; at your emotional roots. HONORING YOUR FEELINGS If you can, when you’re feeling strong emotions, take a moment for yourself. Tune into your feelings. Especially when you are sad, anxious or hurting. - Breathe deeply (oxygen helps the motion of feelingsto let them pass authentically and quickly). - Locate the feeling in your body. Where is the pain, sadness, grief or other feeling? Is it in your heart, chest, gut? - Say out loud, I feel. - Label the feeling, but do not attach yourself to the feeling. For instance, if you notice a feeling of guilt, think this is a feeling (thought) of guilt. - And feel into the emotionit wants to be felt. - Try to keep within the location of the feeling in your bodyit might move around, and that’s ok. - Try to see, hear, sense AND feel the emotion. - Allow it to be feltthat is all it wants to do. It wants to be able to have its moment in time. - Feel, observe and let it pass. It will pass. Self Directed Healing heals emotions, trauma and pain where traditional therapies have not. 08.01.2022 Your thoughts are not the facts Today is World Mental Health Day. 1 in 5 Australians are affected by mental illness, and 1 in 4 will experience anxiety. Emotions both are chemical and cognitive. In learning about our thinking processes, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) helps us watch our thoughts, and gives us space to think about our reaction to thoughts, which give more control over our feeling and behaviours. Although CBT is considered a ‘therapy’, we think it should b...e commonly taught and known in schools, workplaces and in our homes. 07.01.2022 We know that adaptability is crucial to maintaining and improving the world around us, and to getting along with others. In Australia and globally, we have adapted to this dreaded virus. And in doing so have decreased the severity of its impact. Being deliberately adaptable means if something is not working for you, or us, then do it differently.... Sometimes on a personal level, we can miss the target, lose our way, struggle with others, or just can’t seem to get what we want. Some people struggle with personal adaptability more than others. To be adaptable is to be flexible, resilient, modifiable, conformable and changeable. This means doing something different. Now read that again, adaptability means doing something different. This could mean anything from risking a relationship by speaking up to maintain your integrity for truth and justice. Adaptability could mean holding back words we might commonly say in a conversation for they would be pointlessly damaging. Adaptability could mean reviewing a current strategy that isn't getting desired results, or getting support from someone or something new. With Darwin's survival of the fittest, adaptability winsbut science also shows us that cooperation has been absolutely vital to the evolution of humankind and other species. Cooperation and adaptability requires listening, and taking note of feedback. 05.01.2022 This is a difficult timeand just as our ancestors have experienced famine, war and disease, and other traumas, this is our ordeal that we are experiencing together. I don't talk much about coronavirus. There's so much chat and speculationwhat I know is that people and families are struggling, to say the least. Just as in every classic hero's journey, in mythology, and films and stories, this is our ordeal. Our road of trials. ... And, just like in our films, movies and stories, our lives also take an arc. They have chapters and themes that run through our life. These themes, ordeals and challengesthey can be hard. This is part of the human experience. It comes with being a human. It is these ordeals and challenges that expand us into a better version of ourselves, that help us evolve into a better speciesit changes our biology. However, these challenges can also be traumatic. They can bring on anxiety or other mental illnesses. Sometimes our challenges in life can be overwhelming, and inhibit us from moving forward. At times like these we can benefit from leaning on others. Around 65% of people who are experiencing mental illness do not reach out for help. And the longer we leave it the harder it can be to move back to health and wellness. Fortunately, today the topic of mental health is starting to become as ‘normal’ as physical health. Ok. Now, let's talk about 'resistance'. Resistance is a force that tends to oppose things, we often resist our own growth and change, because then we are moving toward the unknown, like character entering darkness, metaphorically or literally. Fear has served us for centuries, but life has changed. And our brains are a little slow in adapting to our environment. But what we know is when it comes to doing the right thing, we need to feel the fear and do it anyway. To walk into the unknown. We may need to have the courage to know that we may have to leave old ways, habits, and sometimes people behind for our greater good. We might have to say goodbye to a part of us we love or enjoy, but isn't good for us. The reality is, the reason why we love these hero stories, is that they resonant with us. Hero stories touch a part of us from deep within our psyche. And I believe the truth is: We all are supposed to be our own super hero. How? Well just as the protagonist in a film, you have more tools, knowledge and support around you than you realize. The first step is to accept accept the challenge, to start the journey...
