20.01.2022 Gidday Aussies, I feel so very proud of our Aussie athletes!! They are awesome Olympians! All of them are trying their best and showing us that it isn’t always about winning! It’s about trying and being a good person. They don’t give up. They congratulate each other and this shows great Sportsmanship!... My hope is to share these values of kindness, sharing, trust and trying. My books show the child how they can overcome many obstacles in their daily lives. The cute characters teach your child many life lessons. The books also can teach them to read and spell by repetition. Looking at the words that are in clear text makes it easier to see the words. 14.01.2022 Good Afternoon, I have been reading my latest novel in between watching our wonderful Aussies win medals for Australia!! I was reading the names of the Olympians and scores on the scoreboard and thought how wonderful it is to be able to read! This is why I am so passionate about children learning to read from a young age. They will absorb more than you think! If parents read to their child from as early as six months they become used to the language and repeat words. Pointing... your finger to the words and saying cat or dog or whatever the picture is will encourage your child. The repetitive behaviour will teach language skills and reading skills. The more reading the child is encouraged to do alone and with the parent will help the child to develop skills to help them at school. Basic reading will also help with spelling.This can make a difference when starting school. Taking some skills they have learned will give the child confidence. I read to our three children from six months and I read to my grandchildren. At the moment our twin grandsons are turning five in August and it is such a joy when they say they love my books. All of our grandchildren like to borrow from their school libraries too. They take after Nanny Kim with their reading xxx. Please send me an email and I will be delighted to sell you a book.
