23.01.2022 The countdown is on! Less than 3 weeks til we open our new Sunshine Coast, Queensland camp location! And we couldn't be more excited. So let's meet the team.....this is Anna. Anna runs Yoga and Movement Studio Union Yoga Collective and she'll be looking after all our mums, dads and carers in the Parents/Carers Self Care day. Yey. Anna delivers purposeful classes that foster growth and confidence. With a strong physical practice, extensive knowledge of the structure and function of human anatomy and a light and playful disposition Anna draws the passion out of her students and witnesses them transform. We cannot wait. December, January and April camps are sold out. We have a few spots left at our May Sunshine Coast, QLD camp.

16.01.2022 Radha’s strengths are ‘music, singing, dancing’ The countdown to our April camps is ON and we can’t wait to help a whole bunch of kids find their strengths through art therapy with Karma Barnes

15.01.2022 Woo hoo! Crip Camp has been nominated for an Oscar, in the feature length doco category. Camp Jened, affectionately known as Crip Camp, started a summer camp for the handicapped run by hippies. On the heels of Woodstock, a group of teen campers went on to lead the fight for disability civil rights in the US. Charting the early days of the disability movement, this doco is awesome. 13.01.2022 *Meet the team at our new Sunshine Coast camp* Nichole has been working with us at our Byron Bay location since we opened in January 2020. Such is her passion that she gets on a train from Brisbane each camp and travels down to work with our autistic young people. Now that we are opening a Sunshine Coast camp, just a few minutes from her family home, it's not such a big journey for her. We will miss her down here. But Sunshine Coast families you are in for a treat. Nichole...Continue reading

11.01.2022 As we prepare the autistic young people matches with our Carer Teams across NSW & QLD we want to highlight the exceptional pre camp preparation that each and every carer undertakes to really get to know their child before actually meeting them at our welcome BBQ. To validate this, here’s a snippet of a TESTIMONIAL from a family who attended our Byron camp last year.... It felt like our daughters carer had been thorough in her research and that she knew enough about our daughter before we arrived so that they could connect quickly & easily. They bonded beautifully & we found our daughters carer to be warm, intuitive, creative, respectful & flexible. Absolute perfect fit for our daughter.

11.01.2022 Who else is loving the Queens Gambit watching an Autistic mind in action honing their chess expertise?

09.01.2022 We're ending the week with an ausome movie top tip. Look At Me (2019) tells the story of a Tunisian immigrant and his son Youssef. Youssef is nine when his mother has a stroke. This would be difficult enough for most children but Youssef is autistic and struggles to communicate or be understood. The result is a moving family drama about feelings of guilt, forgiveness, ethics and second chances. Nejib Belkadhi adopts a sincere filmmaker's view of autism, without falling into ...the trap of victimising autistic people. The film beautifully depicts the mess, the anger, the joys and the frustrations of life. The depth and complexity of the characters and their relationship giving the film its power. This is a well crafted, thoughtful and absorbing film about reckoning with difficult realities and finding a place in the world. Check it out on https://www.autismcampaustralia.org/aca-tv. Have a great weekend autistic folk. :)
