22.01.2022 The I CAN Network have produced another great resource! It's important for us to open our ears and eyes to the early indicators of increasing challenges in regulation, increasing anxiety or increasing distress - these may be personal for each child and may not be what we assume!

21.01.2022 NEW research study: Can you help us learn about camouflaging in girls on the autism spectrum? We would like to speak to mothers of daughters with autism (aged 13 to 18). We would like to hear from mothers who do and do not identify as being on the autism spectrum. If you are interested, please follow this link https://bit.ly/2JlFr1y to complete the pre-Interview survey or email [email protected] if you have any questions. When the online survey is completed we will get in touch to arrange an online interview at a convenient time for you.

19.01.2022 A great Christmas tip from a parent I was talking to - if your child struggles with not knowing what their present is but wants to join in with unwrapping presents on Christmas day, have you considered wrapping presents in see-through plastic? (it could be coloured plastic, I just didn't have a piccie of that!).

14.01.2022 We're looking for a new post-doctoral research fellow to come and work on our autism and anxiety in young children ARC project. So, if you have a PhD and are passionate about developing your career in autism research, then please do take a consider applying! https://www.seek.com.au/job/51056044

03.01.2022 The The I CAN Network have developed this helpful handout for understanding and supporting executive functioning challenges (and its link to anxiety) in individuals on the autism spectrum. Remember that executive functioning isn't a single thing, it’s a whole raft of interconnected skills and somebody can have challenges in some, all or none of those skills. Executive functioning skills are also not static entities, they may be impacted by factors within the person (e.g. mental health, physical health, sleep) or the setting. https://icannetwork.online//Tip-Sheet-Executive-Functionin

02.01.2022 Help us to find out if we can reduce or prevent anxiety for children on the autism spectrum as they transition into primary school. If your child is starting school in South East Queensland next year and you are interested in participating in this research study, please email [email protected]
