07.01.2022 At the beginning of this week, the Victorian Premier announced a further easing of restrictions as Victoria sees further steps towards a new 'normal' given COVID. It's exciting to see steps taken to reintroduce swimming lessons, competitions and school sport as it is vital in keeping the industry alive and athletes engaged during such a difficult time. Hopefully this will get people comfortable to get back into the pools especially as we head into summer! 07.01.2022 "The bad news is who has the time to compile all of the new data, analyze it....... unless there is a full time IT person on the staff, most coaches simply don't have the time to coach, administer, and do all of that analysis for every swimmer's races in each meet." https://swimswam.com/technology-in-swimming/ This is an interesting issue for many coaches in todays era of swimming, as there has been an increasing influx in tools that enable them to access analytical data on t...heir swimmers. What AutoCoach notices is a gap within the feedback loop which excludes swimmers from immediately gaining feedback - instead, it is an often tiresome and long wait between analysis that sports scientists have carried out to the production of a written report given to the coaches of the swimmers who then needs to filter that feedback back round to the swimmers - however, by then the swimmers has forgotten what they were doing and feeling in terms of technique when the original analysis was carried out. By creating the AutoCoach One Wearable, we aimed to make training more inclusive for swimmers, by increasing their rate of feedback and feedback to their coaches, creating a more engaging environment to both the swimmers and the coaches. We want to bring it back to basics, whereby coaches are left to focus on coaching and where swimmers get access to immediate feedback in the form of both times and technical advice.
