23.01.2022 You gotta love an MP Rotator 2000 in slo mo!

20.01.2022 Flowering now- Crepe Myrtle (Lagerstroemia indica). You won’t have to look very far to see the beautiful Crepe Myrtles in full flower in Sydney at the moment. As you drive around take a look across the hill sides and you will spot them. Coming in shades from deep ruby pink to lighter shades of pink, purple, and white, they are brightening up the streets across the suburbs being covered in flowers, with the weight of the flowers gently bending the branches over to give a beau...tiful display. It looks a little like fireworks shooting out of the tree. They make a great feature tree growing to about 8-10 metres and have a nice shape when left unpruned. They are very hardy once established and have been widely used as street trees in older suburbs of Sydney such as Richmond. Some people prefer to prune them hard each winter but I’m not a fan of the knuckled look, as the new growth shoots straight upwards and is a little ugly. There are also dwarf varieties available that are a shrub size. They are a deciduous tree that lose their leaves in late Autumn after turning an orange colour, and once mature they have attractive blotchy bark. If you are keen on purchasing one it is best to select a tree now from your local nursery so you know the exact colour you are getting. Give them a feed in Spring and Summer and they will put on a great show each January.

17.01.2022 Today we finished a project in Cronulla where new landscaping was done. We ended up doing next door as well with both houses getting MP Rotators in the lawns before the new Tiftuf turf was installed, drip irrigation in the gardens, and Hydrawise Pro HC controllers for automatic weather adjustments. Most of the work was done before Christmas, and we came back today to finish off a few small garden beds that weren’t planted before Christmas. It was great to see the turf looking amazing with its deep green colour, and it hasn’t missed a beat during the recent heatwave we had.

07.01.2022 What a massive year 2020 has been. Not just how busy we have been but with all the covid stuff happening as well. We will be having a well earned break and will be turning the phone off on December 22 and returning to work on January 11. We won’t be replying to calls or txt messages during this time. It’s been a long year, and we just don’t want to think about work for a few weeks to recharge the brain cells. For existing clients if there is an urgent issue just flick us an... email- [email protected] as I’ll keep an eye on my emails. Hope you all have a great Christmas and happy new year! Thank you for all your support throughout the year.

04.01.2022 It was a huge three weeks in the new year with school projects taking place whilst the students were on holidays. From Glenmore Park, to Merrylands, to Mosman. The Glenmore park project was installing swing arms on the sprinklers on the oval. Without swing arms they couldn’t be raised and were far too low, only watering the grass directly around the head as soon as it had a little growth on it. It just couldn’t clear the turf very well. We had to dig each head up, install t...he swing arms, and then backfill with sand to stop it sinking back into the awful soft sticky clay. The sprinklers are throwing much better now. We also upgraded their two controllers to Hydrawise controllers with wireless rain sensors. In Merrylands we installed drip irrigation in 5 garden areas, and MP Rotators in a few turf areas in readiness for new turf. The turf was laid during the recent heatwave we had with temps around 40 degrees, but we set it to come on four times each day so it didn’t miss a beat. It would have been a nightmare for our clients to try and keep it moist during that heat, and many hours of paying staff over the weekend to water it, but with irrigation it simply isn’t an issue. We installed a Rainbird ESP-ME3 modular controller to allow for future expansion. Now it’s time to catch up on our residential projects.
