A lot of people forget this and as a result we have had quite a few customers who are complaining of hard starting, misfires and poor fuel economy which were a result of worn out spark plugs! This "heat cycling" takes its toll on all the seals and gaskets in your engine and over time they become brittle and lose their sealing capability. 17.01.2022 Today we are doing a turbo on a customer's car and as you can see it has had a catastrophic failure. This turbo was replaced recently with a cheap "eBay special". Yes you may be able to get parts for a lot cheaper than the ones that we supply but the reason our parts are more expensive is because they come with a workmanship and parts warranty and also are made to a much higher standard. What would you rather, a cheap repair that has to be done twice or an expensive repair that is fixed right the first time?

10.01.2022 Have you had your timing belt checked lately? We have had a few customers lately who unfortunately didn't get it checked in time. Your timing belt keeps the pistons and valves working in time and when it wears out it can strip or snap causing significant damage to the head. Whilst it is usually repairable it can cost upwards of $2000 - $3000. A timing belt is usually under $1000 fitted. Which would you prefer? ... Most timing belts are due at around 80,000 - 150,000kms. If you are unsure if your vehicle has a timing belt or don't know when it was changed last give us a ring or send us a message and we can arrange a time to inspect it for you. 09.01.2022 Got the pleasure of working on this pristine 180B yesterday. New plugs, points, air filter, an oil and grease change and check over and she was running as good as the day she rolled off the factory floor At AutoLine we don't just know new cars, we can keep anything running good as new. So if you've got a classic that other mechanics have put in the "too hard basket" or "nah sorry mate too old" give us a go you won't be disappointed.

06.01.2022 Over time your accessory belts which drive components such as your air conditioner and alternator wear out and begin to crack. If not replaced when due this could cause excessive belt noise (squealing), poor performance from items on the belt or worst case the belt could snap causing you to be stranded on the side of the road! We check belts as part of your service and can advise you of they need replacement. So if you haven't replaced them in a while or have noticed weird noises from under your bonnet it might be time to get them checked.

02.01.2022 Have you had your brakes checked lately? The right brake pad is from a customers car and was so worn out that the braking material was completely gone! Once the braking material is gone your car will no longer stop as well and if left long enough it could cause damage to your brake rotors, calipers and other parts of the braking system. If you hear grinding or squealing when you brake it is time to get your braking system checked. Message us today to sort out a safety check.
