05.01.2022 Projection mapping of a wild mountain road onto the walls of a grungy city parking station to enhance SUVnes and urban cowboy aspirations.

02.01.2022 Vertical video has gone from DUMB (people who didn’t realized their smart-phones have an accelerometer and can re-orient the picture in their screens with just a flick of the wrist) to CLEVER (marketeers who realized it’s easier to pander than to educate!) As a consequence, I’m adding directing in 9x16 to my tool kit. Not that different to learning a new language actually, the rule of thirds needs a bit of translation but I’m suddenly noticing how nicely tops of trees and clouds can balance objects, the two-shot on the other hand can get completely lost in translation and need some thought. Never the less I’m looking forward to becoming fluent in vertical aspect ratio even if my accent will always have a slight horizontal predisposition. I just hope I don’t have to re-install my WIDE screen TV in an upright position!
