24.01.2022 Positive reinforcement The old inner panels were not only torn off the body, they were also completely different shapes side to side. With the help of some MDF templating material seen in the photos, we are templating the inside of the body and creating patterns to get the perfect fit in metal. The inner panels have been engineered to distribute the aerodynamic loads across the inside of the body to retain those beautiful curves. These braces will provide further structu...ral strength to the front clam, complementing the chassis frame. 22.01.2022 Follow the pattern Using the MDF patterns we created in the last post. We have now transferred this layout onto 1.2mm aluminium, shaped by hand to fit the inner body. A new bead-rolling die was machined up in the lathe from the measurements of the old panels. Enabling us to make the exact bend congruent with the original panels.
