23.01.2022 Tutoring helps the student to see their steady success. This helps motivation when the student realises that they can do the work. And that, combined, eventually turns into better understanding, more willingness to study and eventually higher marks.

18.01.2022 Schools do a remarkably good job of educating the children who fit the mold of learning well in a classroom. Some children need more help - others need more challenges. Some need teaching customised to their quirky approaches to learning. Children vary widely. Tutoring can cater to a much wider range of approaches to learning. I tutor because I love the delight and often surprise when someone discovers that they can enjoy maths or physics.

16.01.2022 Much as students deserve a nice long break, for some students it results in forgetting some basic maths. That makes the firs term confusing and difficult. This can be avoided with a surprisingly small amount of study over January. An hour a week is often enough, if well designed to suit the individual.
