24.01.2022 Congrats to Johnson Bros.
23.01.2022 Like all organisations, we have been monitoring the developments with the current COVID-19 virus. There have been many events cancelled across all sports and sections of the community, from grass roots sports competitions to national competitions. We are now seeing many venues also closing, including the WAC and SOPAC. Whilst there is no evidence that the virus can be transmitted via the water, these venues have closed due to the "no non-essential gatherings of 100 people i...ndoors" and the "social distancing" requirements. In light of the current situation, your committee has made the difficult decision to cancel the remaining 2 weeks of swim club. We have also decided to cancel the End of Year celebration at RYMC. This is very disappointing, especially given the run of bad weather we have had since the beginning of the year. We are yet to make a decision on the Presentation Night in May, we will review this early May, taking into consideration the guidelines provided by the Government at that time. If you have perpetual trophies to be returned, can you please contact us so we can make arrangements to recover these. Keep Swimming, Richard ABASC - President

14.01.2022 Dear friends, The government has announced yesterday a number of new measures including the ban on gatherings of more than 100 people in an indoor space. We und...erstand the necessity of keeping our community safe and will be abiding by these restrictions. Park House will be open everyday as usual from 12pm but with some of the venue partially closed. We hope to see you soon and in the meantime, stay safe, look out for each other and continue to support local businesses while it’s safe to do so.

07.01.2022 What a year 2020 has been, finished last season with some very ordinary weather, huge seas, bush fires and the COVID-19. Just when we thought we had jumped over that hurdle, the bar just got higher with another outbreak, but this time very close to home. We have had a number of members who have been in isolation over the Christmas period and our thoughts have been with you and your families, the reports I have had, that everyone has tested negative, which is great news! This... Christmas and New Year has been very different than years past, I know for me, it is the first (in 20 years) I have spent at home and the second away from family. We hope you all had a good time in any case and did celebrate in some way. Based on the time since the cases has passed, most of the people around the Northern Beaches (who have tested negative) should be or getting out of isolation soon. I know Kylie is counting down the minutes to 23:59 tonight, then she is free, everyone watch out :) Re-Start of Season 2021 Due to the current Public Health Order affecting the Northern Beaches (especially the northern part), we will NOT be able to recommence the swimming season as expected on the 2nd Jan. Hopefully we will be able to be back in the pool on the 16th Jan. We will continue to monitor the government restrictions and risk to members and will let you know closer to that date. At a minimum, we will have missed 3 weeks of swimming around this time, we will be reviewing the Age Championship eligibility criteria and possibly make adjustments due to this. We will also be rescheduling the Open 100m BCK and Open 400m F/S championships. If we are back in the pool and the conditions are favourable on the 16th, we will hold the BCK championship on that morning. WASA Development Squads For those members who have participated in WASA meets this or last season, (at this stage) the WASA Development Squads are still going ahead. The dates are 18/1 to 22/1, 10:30am - 12 at the WAC. Applications CLOSE on the 13/1. Numbers are limited. Cost is $25 per swimmer and if you attend all 5 days, we will reimburse your fee. This includes entry to the WAC for the participant. For more information and to register, visit the WASA website: https://www.warringahswimming.asn.au/development-1/ WASA Handicap Meet The WASA Handicap meet is scheduled for the 30th Jan at 5pm down at Freshwater Pool. Entries close on the 23rd Jan. We have won this meet for the past 3 seasons, lets give it another good go this year. The program is here: https://www.warringahswimming.asn.au//2020-21-HC-WASA-Meet Email us or see Kylie down at the pool with your entries. We hope everyone has a great New Year and lets put 2020 behind us and look forward to a better 2021. See you all soon, Richard Avalon Bilgola Swimming Club - President

01.01.2022 All club events on the 19th December have been cancelled due to the current COVID-19 cluster on the Northern Beaches. NSW Health have recommended that all Northern Beaches residents stay home for the next 3 days.
