25.01.2022 The challenges of 2020 have greatly impacted the wellbeing of young people. Significantly, four in 10 young people felt stressed either all of the time or most of the time. Following equity and discrimination and COVID-19 as the top two national issues, three in 10 (30.6%) young people identified mental health as an important issue in Australia today. Young people’s top three personal concerns also link closely to mental health: coping with stress (42.5%), mental health (33.9...%) and body image (33.0%). This information definitely has a strong correlation to the information that our AYH Youth Advisory Group have been concerned about. In our AYH Podcast we are also talking about COVID and the impact it has had on our young people. Make sure you tune into - MAKING SENSE OF ADOLESCENCE - Coming out of COVID. https://www.avalonyouthhub.org.au/avalon-youth-hub-podcast/

11.01.2022 This can’t be truer and something you must try. When you’ve been hurt or triggered by someone, muster up the courage to reflect, wait, sleep on it, journal, do what ever it takes to hold off from reacting to that person for 48 hours. Once this time has passed and the red mist has settled, things come into perspective and we can make sense of what’s happened. We can communicate clearly and way more effectively. We don’t say things out of spite or hurt, we say it out of a place a calmness and perspective. Sometimes we don’t actually need to say anything at all. Give it a go and let us know how you go! We guarantee results. Change the way we react to change our old patterns. #blowups #overreacting #communication #anger #resentment #fear
