24.01.2022 As parents, keeping your children’s oral health in tip top shape is an important part of protecting your kids from infection and tooth decay. Brush your childre...n’s teeth twice per day until they are about 8-9, then teach them how to brush themselves. Floss any teeth that touch together, and make sure to use child-strength fluoride toothpaste. #MyMidlandDentist #MidlandWA #HappyHealthySmile
24.01.2022 We at My Midland Dentist together with the Australian Dental Association celebrate Dental Health Week 2020 --How Much Sugar is Hiding In Your Trolley?. It dra...ws on the concept of hidden sugars and reading food labels in order to make healthy choices. Making healthy choices at the supermarket extends to making similar smart food and drink choices at home. Saying no to an unhealthy item in the supermarket means you dont have to continue to say no at home. 23.01.2022 Is flossing in the too hard basket? If you know the correct technique, its really easy and only takes a few minutes each day! Next time youre at the Dentist..., ask them to give you the run down on the correct flossing technique. It will save you time, pain and bleeding! #MyMidlandDentist #MidlandWA #HappyHealthySmile
23.01.2022 Losing baby teeth is an amazing time in your childs life, where they are growing and developing mentally and physically. This is a very important time to keep ...their oral health front of mind. When your child has a wobbly tooth, dont encourage them to pull it out with force. They can gently wobble it from side to side, and if it doesnt come loose then leave it for a few days. Once a tooth has come out, especially if the gum is bleeding, make sure to have your child gargle with warm salt water. Keep their mouth and gums clean during this period to avoid any infection. #MyMidlandDentist #MidlandWA #HappyHealthySmile

19.01.2022 Smile with confidence, knowing your teeth are healthy and clean! A thorough dental in-chair clean can reach the tricky spots that you cant get to with a toothb...rush or floss, keeping your teeth healthy and free from bacteria. Make sure to maintain your bi-yearly dental visits to keep those chompers clean and sparkly! :) #MyMidlandDentist #MidlandWA #HappyHealthySmile
19.01.2022 Have you tried using an electric toothbrush? While a soft, regular toothbrush is fine, electric toothbrushes do have some benefits that can make your brushing r...outine easier. Most electric toothbrushes come with a 2 minute timer, so you know when youve completed a thorough clean. Electric toothbrushes can also make around 50,000 movements per minute, with a regular toothbrush making between 300 and 600. Electric toothbrushes are made with soft bristles which makes them great for teeth and gums. #MyMidlandDentist #MidlandWA #HappyHealthySmile
19.01.2022 Dont brush too aggressively! A common brushing problem occurs when patients think brushing their teeth harder will give them a better clean - but it wont. Be ...gentle and thorough with your brushing routine, and get into the hard spots with floss after brushing. Abrasive brushing can cause long term issues, and short term pain with bleeding from the gums. :) #MyMidlandDentist #MidlandWA #HappyHealthySmile
18.01.2022 Citrus fruits are extremely healthy, and rich in Vitamin C! However, they do contain a range of acids that can break down enamel on your teeth. When eating citr...us make sure to drink a glass of water immediately after, to assist in washing out any excess acids remaining in your mouth. Gently brush your teeth about half an hour after consuming, not directly after as this can cause further harm. And like any good food, enjoy in moderation! #MyMidlandDentist #MidlandWA #HappyHealthySmile

17.01.2022 Keeping up a good dental routine while travelling can be tricky. Here are a few tips: Chew gum during the day to help clean the surface of your teeth, and incre...ase saliva production. 07.01.2022 Cheese! Did you know that our teeth are very similar to those of our monkey friends? Primates and humans both have 32 teeth, which consist of molars, premolars,... incisors and canines. The main noticable differences are that primate canines are larger than humans, and their jaws are more rectangular. :) #MyMidlandDentist #MidlandWA #HappyHealthySmile
