24.01.2022 The Launch While church buildings are closed we see this as an opportunity to reimagine what church can look like. Think New Testament House to house model with high grade technology. A multi-site house church model will make us feel like one church in many locations.... We invite you to be part of a new era of the Avenue community in the form of a church plant on July 4. 23.01.2022 In collaboration with the crew from @revibecommunity we're bringing Vision Night. As one large Jesus community we want to lift the name of Jesus up in worship and make space for the presence of God down. On top of the service we'll run a cafe where real conversations can be held over live gospel sets.

23.01.2022 THE CHURCH IS DYING In @pastor_marct's book Heartbeat, he highlights that the church in the west is dying as seen by the statistics above. All around us we see the next generation of believers finding the church uninteresting or irrelevant. This has fueled the vision of Avenue Church that seeks to play a part in reversing these statistics through the power of the Holy Spirit. ... We're a community who is not afraid to put former methods and models of church to rest if they are no longer effective or relevant. This is because we see the new thing God wants to do ahead of us. In the next few posts, we will be sharing the church that we see and the mission God has called us too.

16.01.2022 Unfortunately, technology wasn't on our side and our attempt to have the whole service live last night did not sit well with internet and technology and therefore the stream cut out. Thankyou for your patience and we apologise for any inconvenience and we are once again looking at different ways we can do this with technology. After the stream cut out we decided to record the whole thing and upload it today and we hope it blesses you.

09.01.2022 If You're not done working, God I'm not done waiting We often find ourselves in seasons of waiting, where we are waiting on God to answer prayers or move visibly in our lives. It can be easy to equate these seasons with idleness or even stagnancy, but as this line reminds us, through these times God is far from idle; He is still working and moving as He prepares to bring us into our next season, though we might not be able to see or recognise it yet. While it might test ...our patience, waiting can be crucial, as we don’t want to start building the next stage of our lives upon a foundation that God hasn’t finished preparing -Ashleigh Though the winter is long, even greater the harvest it brings This song is really timely at the moment. The winter has been long for a lot of people and it has been a tough season for us all. But God can still work and he has been working. The imagery in this song is so beautiful and accurate in portraying the way God uses us. We are his seeds and need to bear fruit for the Kingdom. This season, whilst hard, has been one that we as followers of Christ can prune (John 15) the negative and unfulfilling parts of our ministry so that the harvest will be unprecedented. Whether or not we come back to the old normal of church, this time has allowed us as a church to pivot and reinvent our calling for God. Whilst it may be a long time before a congregation meets in a church under normal circumstances, that time is not one of complete silence, God is still working, moving and living in us. 06.01.2022 Meet our head worship leader, Matt Conlon (@matthew.p.conlon) As a singer and guitarist, music has always played a big part in his spiritual journey and relationship with God. Heres what he had to say about music: I've always had a strong heart of worship especially worshipping God through music. I feel closest to the creator when I'm creating and singing to him of his wonder and beauty. Worship has always meant so much to me because it is how I show God... that I love him and it is where I feel his presence the most. The goal at Avenue Church is to create a safe place of worship where the congregation feels comfortable to express themselves to God and ultimately draw near to him so that he can draw near to us (James 4:8). We aim for our music to be planted in scripture and above all, a vehicle for God to use to touch the hearts of people. Worship is above all exclaiming the goodness and worth we find in God." #avenuemission
