11.01.2022 Avertas Energy will be an important part of the circular economy - but what does that really mean? A circular economy aims to minimise waste, and make the most of the precious resources we have rather than just disposing of products once we are done using them. By taking waste that would normally sit in landfills emitting harmful greenhouse gases, Avertas Energy is able to remake the waste into energy, that is in turn used by the community. ... Combined with recycling and reducing our use of consumable products, the circular economy takes us on the journey to a zero-waste society.

Our chief executive Frank Smith described the environmental benefits of energy from waste at the 2019 Waste and Recycle Conference earlier this week. Thanks to everyone who attended, including our stakeholders WMRR, DWER and WALGA.

06.01.2022 Did you know that Paris has been using Waste-to-Energy facilities for 50 years? The three facilities that service Paris are all located in the metro area, with the newest facility, Isseane, just a few kilometres from the Eiffel Tower. Their low emissions mean they blend seamlessly into their surrounding neighbourhoods, causing minimal disruption for residents. We love seeing examples of cities and waste-to-energy facilities working together in harmony.
