24.01.2022 The latest release of national apprentice and trainee data show commencements were down 3.3% to 33 295 in the June 2019 quarter, when compared with the same quarter in 2018.

23.01.2022 Happy Easter from all of us at AVETPA

20.01.2022 There is some great feedback coming into the member for Bowman, Mr Andrew Laming to improve and enhance the Australian VET sector. While there may be some hesitation, it is a great opportunity to make a contribution and if anyone has some other ideas it would be great if you can share them. #avetpa #australianVETleaders

15.01.2022 As the data on total vocational education and training (VET) activity has matured since the first reliable collection in 2015, we are now seeing a discernible shift in the type and quantum of nationally recognised VET undertaken by students over the last four years, with less domestic students and more international students engaging in nationally recognised programs, according to new data released today by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER).

12.01.2022 The new National VET Funding Collection comprises all funding provided by state, territory and Australian government VET portfolios to stimulate or support training places and outcomes, said Simon Walker, Managing Director, NCVER.

12.01.2022 Across the nation, 50.9% of employers made use of the nationally accredited vocational education and training (VET) system in 2019, down 3.5 percentage points from 2017, according to new data released today by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER).

10.01.2022 The latest release of national apprentice and trainee data show trade and non-trade commencements increased to 55 680 in the March 2019 quarter, up 2.2% on the same quarter in 2018.

08.01.2022 "The reality is that for many of the RTO members the nature of the VET system has shifted dramatically in recent years from what started out for many as a learning program focussing on training and assessment," says AVETPA's National President.

06.01.2022 "The start of the year is also a good opportunity to reflect and plan our ongoing learning and professional development and there are many activities on offer for 2019," said AVETPA's National President.

05.01.2022 There has been a lot of attention in recent years on TAFE institutes and large, high-profile private training providers, said Simon Walker, Managing Director, NCVER. However, the sheer number of small providers and their diverse training specialisations, indicate that they also deserve attention.

04.01.2022 Federal Member for Bowman. Mr Andrew Laming is championing the types of issues that so many RTOs and VET practitioners have witnessed and/or experienced through what has certainly seen a total change in emphasis from developing a quality sector to a compliant regime that is become a cost inhibitor for many.

01.01.2022 "A season of change has started once again and the new season has already had an impact with the TAE update deadline now sliding into winter and a new due date of the 1 July 2019 says National President, Dr Shayne Baker OAM".
