25.01.2022 The Aviation Industry Reference Committee (IRC) awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to Aviation Projects Consultant Heather Mattes in recognition of her valuable contribution as a member of the Aviation Industry Skills Technical Advisory Committee in the review and development of the Aviation Training Package. The revision of components under the Aviation Industry Skills Project has ensured that the AVI Aviation Training Package Release 7.0 meets industry skill requirements... and addressed updates to safety and security regulatory requirements relating to aviation supervisory roles. The project ensures that the revised Qualification includes clear linkages to leadership and management occupational roles in the Aviation industry, including technical and specialist pathways. The project material was reviewed by the State Training Authorities (STA) before being formally signed off by the Aviation Industry Reference committee. The draft training package materials have now been submitted to the AISC for endorsement. Thank you Heather for your valuable contribution.



24.01.2022 Aviation Projects’ staff attended the virtual Australian Airports Association (AAA) QLD division meeting today. Updates and information were provided by the Chief Executive of the AAA, AAA QLD Chair, Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications, Civil Aviation Safety Authority, Airservices Australia, Brisbane Airport Corporation, other QLD airports and corporate members. It was great to hear how the industry is adapting and innovating in relation to Covid-19 and benefiting from the support given by the AAA and other agencies. 22.01.2022 Legislation was passed in Queensland parliament last week which will fast-track the Forest Wind Wind Farm project. The Forest Wind Farm Development Bill 2020 is designed to reduce red tape for the wind farm to operate on actively managed pine plantation licence areas. The 1200MW Forest Wind project comprises up to 226 turbines and is located in state forest which is used for pine plantations between Gympie and Maryborough, Queensland. Aviation Projects prepared the Aviation Impact Assessment for the project developer Cleansight and also provided valuable expertise and advice, especially in relation to identifying potential impacts on aircraft operations and proposed mitigations. 21.01.2022 Welcome to our newest intern Alessia Pozzi. Alessia has a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering majoring in Transport Engineering. Alessia moved to Australia from Italy in November 2019 and has experience as an aviation analyst specialising in airport simulation in relation to airport infrastructure and terminal capacity. Alessia is undertaking a remote internship to further her knowledge and understanding of the aviation industry and gain experience in airport planning and de...sign, the built environment, and aviation safety. We hope you find the internship valuable and rewarding.

Courses included Airport Reporting Officer/ Works Safety Officer, Workplace Health and Safety for Airport Managers and Wildlife Hazard Management Essentials. 01.01.2022 Introducing our latest Griffith University Intern, Noah Smyth. Noah is an Aviation Management student undertaking a Work Integrated Learning Internship comprising two components. Noah will be undertaking a research project regarding the impacts of COVID-19 on airport operations and planning. This report will provide valuable information that will be utilised by Avistra Consulting Services in providing advice and assistance to our clients, specifically in relation to infrastru...cture and aeronautical charges. Noah will also spend time with the team gaining exposure to the various projects we are working on and assist with research, analysis and data production. Welcome to the team Noah.
