25.01.2022 Celebrating!!!

24.01.2022 The Certificate II Aeroskills Fastrak students spent an afternoon at Perth airport with the maintenance team at Virgin Australian Regional Airlines (VARA). The tour was led by Lionel Rose, VARAs Business Support Manager, who both entertained and educated everyone. After a visit to the stores department and the Quality, Planning and Management building, the students arrived in the hanger where Lionel explained the inner workings of a Rolls Royce Tay engine and an auxiliary pow...er unit waiting to fitted to a Fokker 100. The lead engineer Flash Gordon took the students on a tour of the Airbus A320, showing students the engines, flight control surfaces, landing gear, avionics compartments, emergency Ram Air Turbine(RAT) system and finally the cockpit. A hearty thank you goes out to the staff at VARA for facilitating this tour as it gave the students an informative overview of how an Aircraft Maintenance Organisation (AMO) operates. See more
