24.01.2022 We are delighted to have received a good news story from one of our residents, Cecilia, who has today become an Australian citizen! The citizenship ceremony was even held from the comfort of her own home, via Skype - the wonders of technology! We wish her all the best.

20.01.2022 What a great turn out today for our Home Aged Care Services seminar. The session provided information on the range of Government services available for older Australians and their families. Big thanks to our wonderful presenter Claire and to all our residents that attended.

19.01.2022 It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at Avington. Yesterday we had our first outdoor Christmas tree installed by the team at Unreal Christmas Trees. Many residents are lighting up the front of their homes with beautiful displays, while our managers Ian and Jo decorate the clubhouse. The festive spirit is in the air!

19.01.2022 Our homeowners are enjoying a demonstration on how to line dance and get their boogie on. Looks like fun!

18.01.2022 With the clubhouse reopening, our lovely community managers have been greeting the residents and taking temperatures with a smile on their face! As restrictions start to ease, we will continue to have strict cleaning measures and limitations on numbers in place to keep the residents, staff and community safe.

17.01.2022 We would like to wish all mothers and grandmothers a wonderful Mothers Day today!

17.01.2022 The Avington community has come together to organise a huge collection of donations for the people affected by the bushfires. Our residents have been incredibly generous donating everything from baby formula, nappies, toys, hygiene products, canned food, long-life milk, pet food, clothing, blankets and much more. All donations have been sent to the Yarraville FoodBank, while All Green Nursery is transporting our donated clothing directly to East Gippsland. We want to thank all the Avington residents who contributed so generously and a big thank you to All Green Nursery for transporting our items to the fire affected regions so quickly.

17.01.2022 Our line dancing group is growing each week. Residents Grace & Sandra hold classes every Tuesday at 4:00pm in the main hall. So come on down for some boot scootin fun!

17.01.2022 A group of our homeowners recently returned from a holiday to Bali. Its great to see friendship groups coming together to share holidays and lots of wonderful memories.

17.01.2022 Our craft group have their needles and yarn ready to knit beanies and blankets for preemie babies in the neonatal unit of the Mercy, Werribee & Royal Womens Hospitals.

16.01.2022 Today marks 4 incredible years of Avington Point Cook! Since the beginning in 2016, our residents have always been at the centre of our vibrant community. As weve grown, they continue to be so, welcoming new residents and offering their support for each other and the wider community. Today we have over 180 homeowners. Although it may be a different kind of year this year, our residents prove to be the essence of community, togetherness and living the best life you possibl...y can. 16.01.2022 It's a beautiful day out in Point Cook for our first visit from The Veggie Car! Our residents are now able to get fresh, locally sourced fruit and vegetables weekly, right on their doorstep, all while supporting this fantastic local business.

14.01.2022 Residents Sharron, Roy & Brenda recently participated in the United Energy Around the Bay bike ride. The team rode a huge 50km around Port Phillip Bay in support of the Smith Family who work towards providing long term opportunities for disadvantaged Aussie children. What an amazing effort!

A local Point Cook cafe Bean Smuggler has started a pay-it-forward initiative with its customers. For every $3 donated, a healthcare worker receives a free coffee! 13.01.2022 Homeowners showcased their talent today at Avingtons first creative arts competition. 43 art & craft entries have been on display in the clubhouse since October. Judging took place by local artist @MichelleRipariArt from Saltwater Art Studio Point Cook who awarded prizes in each category. Congratulations to all that entered, there are definitely some very talented residents within our community.

Madhu, who is hearing impaired and unable to work because of the current circumstances, has started growing organic, fresh herbs from home. Word on the street: Many of the Avington residents will be commemorating ANZAC day by standing outside on their driveways, tomorrow morning at 6am.
