21.01.2022 OK, we’re sure there are other solutions around (and this system has been around for 3 years), however the Australian Importer/Distributor does actually have stock available (as of yesterday) and a single system is well priced at $549 RRP. If you’re planning a period of webcasting from a phone such a system will solve your audio capture challenges. For more info call Keith 0401 535279.

10.01.2022 This is a community service announcement for all microphone owners/users! I’m just starting to get queries from church and other shared microphone use clients about how best to clean their shared microphones, and although I’ve been asked MANY times over my 30+ year audio career it has a rather new meaning and importance in our current world health situation. Ultimately there’s a good argument for own and use your own microphone, however respect the fact some audio engin...eers won’t want to use below acceptable quality microphones, or in some cases won’t want to mix different brand/model microphones across a stage/sanctuary/band. Shure are one of the biggest world wide manufacturers of microphones and recommend the following cleaning approach: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1j6CVlFG1Vk Be careful however that you replace the foam internal filter when it falls apart (and don’t just leave it out) and replace grills when they start to rust! Most name brand microphone manufacturers provide spare parts which can be ordered through authorised dealers. Some people just recommend a wipe over with an alcohol based disposable cleaning wipe, but don’t use any form of spray cleaner (Glen 20) as it will rot the internal foam filter.... Keith Ellison.

06.01.2022 Church security! I had a disturbing call from a church down South of Adelaide to say they had been broken in to and lost their Roland M300 digital audio mixer and a short-throw projector, so while services are postponed and staff are working from home reconsider your site security. At minimum digital photograph all technology onsite (including labels that include brand/model/serial number if accessible) and archive off site, and consider archiving all "proof of purchase" tax ...invoices off site. Be alert but not alarmed!
