The clubs Major Open event on their golfing calendar was inaugurated in 1929, by Mr Neil Kennedy and in previous years gone by attracted fields of around 130-140 players. It once was a game of stamina over a couple of days but due now to numbers declining, is played on 1 day through 27holes.
