12.01.2022 A woman in Joondalup has tested positive for COVID-19 after returning from Sydney, and she has spent 2 days in the community. 12.01.2022 It’s great to see another week with very few cases of COVID-19 in WA. The safety of our customers, colleagues and community remains our highest priority. We are continuing to follow good hygiene and social distancing guidelines when providing supports. Avivo also supports the use of the new COVIDSafe app. The app has been designed to speed up contacting people who have been exposed to the virus. The Government is encouraging all of us to download the app to our phones. Our IT team has researched the app and believe it is a safe way to contribute to controlling the spread of infection. We encourage all employees and customers to use but it is each person’s choice. Find more about how the app works and how our privacy is maintained here: https://www.health.gov.au/reso/apps-and-tools/covidsafe-app

11.01.2022 The safety of our Avivo community is incredibly important to us. During this week's 5-day lockdown, Avivo will continue to provide in-home supports where it is safe to do so. Our support workers will wear masks and gloves and will use wipes and sanitiser. Any employees who are considered vulnerable due to their age or health condition, have been asked to stay home this week. We are also working with customers and colleagues affected by the north-east bushfires to assist them in their safety. If you are one of our customers, virtual supports can be arranged. We may also be able to pick up shopping for you so that you can stay home. Please don't hesitate to contact your Coordinator to discuss the options available to you.
