24.01.2022 Following requests from many players and parents and in consultation with our coaches, the committee this week has approved the return of club endorsed training and for NetSetGo and Auskick to commence the same night, Thursday July 30. Times are as follows. Netball... NetSetGo 3.30pm Under 11. 3.30pm 13 & under 4.30pm Under 15 & 17. 5.30pm Seniors 6.30pm Football Auskick 3.30pm All juniors 5.00pm Seniors 6.30pm. We are continuing discussions with other clubs to look to arrange a series of junior practice matches throughout August and September. As per previous advice, the Covid-19 Return to Training and Playing protocols will be in place and must be adhered to at all times. These will be sent out and coaches made aware prior to the 30 July and further advice regarding insurance and registration fees will be released within the next week. Even though there is no 2020 season, the committee are aware of concerns around mental health and getting some normality back into our lives, if it is safe to do so. If the Covid-19 situation was to change we would act on the advice of the State Government and Health Authorities at the time. If anyone has any questions in this regard, please contact Bill Drummond on 0417117911.

23.01.2022 A message from Avoca Football Netball Club In line with the State Government announcement that stage three restrictions come back into force, the club is required to cease all training which includes our NetSetGo and Auskick programs. For those parents who have paid for the NetSetGo and Auskick programs the club is committed to ensuring the remaining sessions are conducted when restrictions allow.... Whilst disappointing, the club understands and supports these restrictions and the health & wellbeing of all involved is paramount during this time. The mental health of everyone is at the forefront of the club's thoughts currently. If anyone has any issues throughout this period, please ensure you talk with your family, friends or contact Lifeline on 131 114 or Beyond Blue 1300 224 636. We will get through this and as a club we look forward to coming back together when able and safe to do so. Plans are well underway in preparing for the 2021 season whatever that may look like. If anyone has any questions or is looking for support, please contact Bill Drummond on 0417 117911

22.01.2022 Finally we got a good night for training after rain has ruined the last few weeks. Here are some pictures of the junior kids running around tonight.

22.01.2022 The 1977 Under 16 Premiership team photo that the club had, was badly faded and in need of replacing. A very big thank you to Jon Howell who was the Premiership Coach and had a great photo at home, and allowed the club to copy it. A copy is now in club archives, and is also on the clubroom wall.... Thank you Jon!

20.01.2022 A reminder that Auskick, NetSetGo and training commences Thursday July 31. The club continues to monitor the COVID situation and government advice and will update any changes. There are no club membership costs for this season. Times are as follows. Netball NetSetGo 3.30pm Under 11. 3.30pm 13 & under 4.30pm Under 15 & 17. 5.30pm Seniors 6.30pm Football Auskick 3.30pm All juniors 5.00pm Seniors 6.30pm. 19.01.2022 The Avoca Football Netball Club congratulates all of the Avoca Primary School graduates, and we especially acknowledge Ashlee Soulsby and Matthew Wardlaw, who are the recipients of the Avoca FNC Scholarship Awards. We wish you all well in your future academic achievements.

19.01.2022 Now more than ever, Victorian kids deserve the chance to get outside and be active. Back with their friends and teammates back on the pitch, the courts, and the cricket nets. But new boots and rego fees aren't cheap and for some families, the cost means that kids miss out altogether.... We don't think that's fair. Which is why we're doing this: For the first time ever, up to 100,000 Victorian kids will be given $200 sports vouchers to help cover the cost of getting involved. New bats, balls, uniforms, memberships and sign-up fees can be paid for and the vouchers will be available next year in time for community sport to get going again. I know this might seem like a simple announcement but it'll go a long way towards making sure every Victorian child has the opportunity to follow their passion, do their best and have fun. It'll mean that the next Don Bradman or Tayla Harris doesn't miss out simply because their family can't afford the fees. And it makes things that little bit fairer too.

19.01.2022 Auskick and NetSetGo resumes this afternoon at 3pm. Under 11 and 14.5 footballers are welcome to come down for a kick, however this is not official training. There is no Junior netball training.

18.01.2022 Recently the Avoca Football Netball Club sent letters to all of our Business Partners offering them all a refund of their sponsorship contribution for this season as a result of the COVID 19. Early in August we received a letter from Herring & McMillan, who instead of accepting our offer of a refund, also decided to make a further contribution of another $200 to our club to assist in paying for some of our costs. We are very appreciative of this support and our thanks to David Hewitt and everyone at Herring & McMillan.

17.01.2022 Here are quite a few training pictures from tonight. Been a while so the photographer also needed the practice. Great effort from all who attended in bloody hot conditions.

17.01.2022 This time last year our Under 14.5 team was celebrating our first footy premiership for many years in a great performance to win comfortably over Carisbrook in the Grand Final. https://websites.sportstg.com/round_info.cgi It was a great day for the Avoca Football Netball Club!... Our junior footballers started the day off on a high note and our A Grade netballers finished it with a great performance over the Carisbrook Redbacks to go through the season undefeated to be Premiers and Champions for the 2019 season. http://my.netball.com.au/common/pages/public/rv/match.aspx And of course The B grade girls also were premiers which if course I forgot. Apologies girls. I will fix up when I get home.

16.01.2022 Thanks you once again to everyone that sold or purchased tickets for our club. We hope you are all staying safe and we look forward to all getting together again in the future.

15.01.2022 The Avoca Football Netball Club is very sad to hear that Kerri Jenkins (Wardlaw), who is a former netball Premiership player for our club, has passed away after a long illness. 13.01.2022 Job available at one of our long time business partners.

13.01.2022 Good to see a few of our more committed players rocking up to a pre-season run tonight. Let’s build on it in the weeks leading up to Christmas.

13.01.2022 The club received contact today from Steve Harrison who is the son of a former 1953 Premiership player Reg Harrison. Reg was a dashing wingman with a very good stab pass. Reg and his brother Kevin both shared an association with the Avoca FNC back in the fifties and are very proud to have played in our 1953 premiership. The brothers eventually moved on to other places.... Kevin passed in recent years and his ashes were scattered on the Avoca Football Oval. Reg went onto play and coach in South Australia when he joined the RAAF and played/coached some premiership A-Grade for Salisbury North, and the Elizabeth (which became Central Districts in the SANFL). Reg who is now in his 90th year, was also obviously an athletic type as after football he took on golf and got down to a 3 handicap, and then in his cottage took on bowls and won a few championships. Reg & Kevin’s father, Hec, also played for Avoca in the 1920’s and 30’s and was a three time premiership player in 1927, 28 & 29, and was club Secretary in 1932 & 1933. We thank Steve for his correspondence today and we wish Reg and the Harrison family well. https://websites.sportstg.com/club_info.cgi Pictured is Kevin and Reg from the 1953 premiership team. Also pictured is Reg (Right) celebrating the 1956 Premiership for Salisbury North. And Reg today with his Daughter in Law, Sadie, checking out the Avoca FNC website page.

Dates have been set for senior pre-season training to commence with football kicking off 6.00pm Tuesday November 24 and netball 6.00pm Monday December 7. After a full season off, we are all looking forward to the new year and excited about what 2021 will bring

03.01.2022 Hi all. Please have a read of Jimmy Walton’s following story and click on the link and support the cause. Wishing you well from the Avoca FNC Jimmy! As many of you will know I very rarely post on Facebook. But no time like the present! Also as many of you may not know I had a mild stroke back in August. This has knocked me around quite a bit over the last few months, but have received some good news recently, am on the improve, and should be back to relatively normal soon. As... someone who previously had been lucky to never experience any health issues of much significance, it has opened my eyes to how challenging these type of things can be. As such I've decided to try to grow a Mo as part of Movember. I've given myself a bit of a headstart and hopefully will be able to get the mo looking more respectable than it is now! If you would like to donate a link to my movember page is in the comments. P.S. Happy birthday to my better half Jasmine Emselle and thanks for all of your support and everything you have done over the past few months x https://movember.com/m/14309144?mc=1

Date will be on Saturday 19th June 2021 when Avoca host Lexton. If you know someone that may be interested in attending the event, please pass this information onto them. 01.01.2022 Just a follow up on the recent Toyota Good for Footy Raffle. The Avoca Football Netball Club is very pleased to have made a profit of $7,000 from the raffle. We would like to thank everyone that participated by selling or purchasing tickets and we are very grateful for the income that was generated, which will be put towards reducing the ongoing costs that our club has incurred despite the season not going ahead.... The Major Draw for the cars and the top ten prizes will be drawn at 12pm on Thursday 20th August, and we look forward to hopefully seeing someone that has purchased a ticket through our club driving away in a new Toyota. However, the club also included a $250 voucher to be spent at one of our Business Partners. The winning ticket was drawn from all of our ticket holders and we are very pleased to announce that the winner of the voucher is Sheree & John Moser. We congratulate Sheree & John and we will be in touch with them shortly to find out which of our very generous Business Partners they will be supporting with their $250 Voucher. The list of Business Partners to choose from is https://websites.sportstg.com/get_file.cgi?id=36748226 Thank you to all of our Business Partners and we ask that everyone please support them whenever possible.
