04.01.2022 A Message from our President - Jan Wade Dear Members, 2020 has been a very strange year for all of us and has presented challenges in our normal fundraising operations. Whilst this has been restricted the demands on the services and groups we support has actually increased so it’s even more important that we can continue the good work and support those that are in need.... Due to COVID restrictions, we were not able to hold our Annual Fashion Parade this year but hope to see a return in the new year. We also had to postpone our Annual Golf Day this year but again, we are hoping to see that take place in 2021. Our best wishes to Mike Hook who is currently unwell. Despite Covid restrictions, we have had a couple of successes this year including the: - Masquerade Dinner which raised $11,000 and was a great night! - Trading Tables which raised $1000 from our 2 Stalls at Bay Village and Erina Fair earlier this month - Dogs of Avoca Dog‘s Breakfast" which raised about $1500 So, we start 2021 with a healthy balance and we can continue to assist the great work of local groups that we support! A special thanks to Sue Newham for the amazing work in fundraising and obtaining donations for the auctions and Bron Riddolls for her support with this also. Thank you to the committee members: - Sandra Wingrave - Christine Graham - Maureen Spencer - Billie Mallon - Robin Tinker Thanks to Matt Wynn-Jones & Greg Bland for the support with the Dogs of Avoca and Masquerade Dinner. Thanks also to all the active members who helped out and to our many supporters Best wishes and we look forward to the new year ahead! Jan Wade - President Red Cross Avoca Beach Club [email protected] http://AvocaRedCross.org.au
