19.01.2022 Today we should be doing all things Market and preparing for Mother’s Day, now just 2 weeks away if there was one thing you could get your Mum for Mother’s Day from our Market what would it be? We may still be able to help you out #avocariversidemarket #visitavoca #mothersday

15.01.2022 Due to the health concerns for our stall holders, volunteers and the general public, we have decided to cancel the March Market. More information for the April Market will be available closer to the date.

14.01.2022 Normally we would be getting ready for our market tomorrow, but instead we have set a challenge for you. We would like you to go out of your way to preform a random act of kindness for someone. You may know them, you may not. #spreadkindnesslikeconfetti #sprinklethatshiteverywhere

13.01.2022 Just to clarify. We have chosen to not reopen our market due to current restrictions. We are a small committee ran by volunteers, we do not have the man/women power to police numbers, time limits and ensure that covid safe measures are being held too. Current restrictions allow people to leave their homes for essential reason, some of our stall holder do not fall under that category, therefore, would not be able to come along to our market. We, as a committee, want our market to be the best that it can be and running at a smaller stall holder number would not be beneficial for our visitors or our stall holders. The Avoca Market Committee

13.01.2022 Jason and his plants will be in the Main Street tomorrow morning from 8 till 12ish having a pop up stall. Why not go on down and see what plants he has with him to give the kiddies something to do over the up coming school holidays

12.01.2022 Something a little funny for your Thursday. Wait.... it is Thursday isn’t it??

12.01.2022 We are sadden to inform you that our riverside market will be postponed until The end of June. We are desperately trying to get more volunteers to help our aging and health stricken committee to help with the running of the market. We have tried our best over the past several months to get up and going again, but due the health concerns (not even related to COVID-19) we have found it hard to resume. We want to apologise to our stall holders and the greater community for the delay, but feel we have no room to move at this point in time. We will keep you posted as soon as we have more information. Regards the market committee

12.01.2022 In this photo there is 4 out of 6 market volunteers. 3 out of our 6 Volunteers have health issues, whilst the other 3 have daily contact with loved ones that have health issues. Why am I writing this post? After listen to the Prime Minister go live on Facebook today with his updates and recommendations, he states that events with over 500 people in attendance at once for a long period of time should be canceled. Do we have over 500 people at one time? Probably not. ... Are we a closed in Market? Absolutely not. But, IF the corona virus was to accidentally attend the Avoca Riverside Market, these people could catch it. Some of Stall holders have health issues too. This means that a) they couldn’t come along or b) could catch the virus too. Both of which we would hate to be the cause of. Our town has a growing population of the ‘older’ generation. We have a nursing home in which our some of our family and friends live. We all have family and friends in this town, and afar, that we care deeply about and would have to be the cause of speeding this virus. Please bear with us all at That Avoca Riverside Market, and the rest of the world, as things tried to be figured out. It’s crazy out there, but we are trying to do our little bit to keep everybody safe. We will be back up and running as soon as it is safe to do so.

10.01.2022 With no CFA lads shaking tins and stop lights, because you know - we are all staying home. There will be nobody walking the streets shaking a tin. The pubs have been shut for weeks with no raffles, money tins with loose change and no out of uniform days at school to help raise some very needed funds for this years Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. Please still remember to dig deep this year, even with this pandemic going on, these little children still need our help.

09.01.2022 Thank you to these local businesses. Remember to sanitise and social distance when visiting

09.01.2022 Tracey Phillips from Amphitheater Trinkets has some beautiful hand made jewellery which is sold at our Sunday Markets. Visit her watt store to check them out, perfect for Mother’s Day!

09.01.2022 The annual collection for the Good Friday Appeal has been cancelled this year like most other events around the Shire. But you can still do your bit. Beaufort F...ire Brigade have cancelled its doorknock but they are asking people to give in other ways and show your support for the kids. The raffle is on display at Beaufort Newsagency and tickets may be purchased from Jim or Mary. Collection tins are still in most shops and we encourage people to put their loose change in these containers. People can donate by direct Credit to the local bank account for the Good Friday Appeal by accessing the account BSB 633-000 Account number 169531977 and leave your details there if you require a receipt. The Good Friday Appeal staff have worked hard and created a 2020 Virtual Tin Shake that can be accessed on line. Simply Google Virtual Tin Shake and this will get you in to the Beaufort Fire Brigade and The Beaufort Collection. This can also be accessed on the Beaufort Fire Brigades Facebook site. For those that have that tin/jar full of coins that they have been collecting all year, there will be a Bucket at the side door of the Beaufort Fire Station on Good Friday from 10am until 12 Noon, for those who want to tip their coins in. For further details contact Appeal co-ordinators, David Gerrard on 5349 2598 or Ray Larkens on 0428 492 260. See more

03.01.2022 Market Update Due to current restrictions in place and to the fact that we can not have ALL of our stall holders at our market, we have decided to look at 2021 to reopen. We apologise to all our stall holders and visitors for this decision, but we feel it is the right thing to do. The Avoca Riverside Market Committee

02.01.2022 After a lot of discussion with the market committee we have decided that it is still unsafe to re open our market. We will be meeting again in September to discuss moving forward and hopefully things have settled down enough for us to reopen. We apologise to our stall holders, market goers and our community, but feel this is our safest option. Regards The Avoca Riverside Market
