25.01.2022 Excitement today as we opened the Time Capsule from the Year 2000! We have all remaining staff members that were at Avoca in the Year 2000 when the vault was sealed! We also have photos of the School Captains and current Admin at the excavation site. We have the items spread out on a spare floor to dry out as there has been some moisture intrusion. There is a lot of really excellent memorabilia! There is still time to register for the event. Phone the office next week (4150 0444) or message us in Facebook with names, numbers and one contact phone number!

24.01.2022 Make the step to Prep. Schools are ready to welcome your child as they start school. Contact your local school now to learn more about enrolling your child into Prep. Remember: your child must be aged 5 years by 30 June 2021 to be eligible to start Prep next year.

21.01.2022 Year 2000 Time Capsule items. We have had inquiries about people getting access to individual items. We will be putting all Year 2000 items back into their Time Capsule to be raised again in 2030 with the new Year 2020 Time Capsule. This will all happen at an event to celebrate Avoca State School’s 50th Anniversary.

21.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PREP - YEAR 2 This Wednesday children will need to bring along some old long clothes for swimming. Children can wear winter pyjamas, long sleeve shirts, track suits, etc, for survival activities in the water that are easy to get off. Children will need to wear these clothes OVER the top of their TOGS as part of their assessment.... Thank you for assisting us with their swimming. See more

10.01.2022 Volunteers Urgently Required The Tuckshop is seeking volunteers, particularly for Wednesdays and Fridays. Duties may include cooking sausages, sandwich making, packing orders, washing dishes and serving students. Volunteers are needed from 9am - 11.45am, however, with no regular help, any time you can offer will be appreciated. Younger siblings are very welcome.... Please see Jo in the tuckshop or phone 4150 0429 if you can spare some time.

09.01.2022 Christmas Hamper Free Dress Day! The Student Council is holding a Free Dress Day this Friday 27 November. Instead of contributing a gold coin, students are asked to donate items to their class Christmas Hamper. The hampers will be donated to the Salvation Army to be distributed to disadvantaged Bundaberg families this Christmas. Suggested items for donating include non-perishable grocery items, wrapping paper, bottles of soft-drink, treats and Christmas decorations. Any support that you can provide will be greatly appreciated!
