17.01.2022 New hospital patient. Fledgling Magpie with eye, maybe head injury after falling out of high nest in cypress tree. Mum still around but so are the cats. Hopefully a week or so’s nursing then release.

17.01.2022 Home made beef jerky/biltong. Traditional Texas rub with some brown sugar. 2 yo home killed steer, 1kg round steak, 4 hours in dehydrator, very easy to do. Great texture and taste.

07.01.2022 4 lovely heifers getting happy with the yards again so they are nice and calm for loading a transport to their new home stress free. Open unforced daily access to the race for them to practise on without intervention or pushing so they happily trot onto a truck.
