09.01.2022 On 23 April 2020, the Commercial Tenancy (COVID-19 Response) Act 2020 (WA) (Act) became law, as a response to many commercial tenants experiencing a sudden and sharp decrease in income due to COVID-19 restrictions. The Act imposes a number of obligations on the parties to commercial leases which are important, including the non-payment of rent, a pause on rent increases and a new dispute resolution process.
