25.01.2022 This was presented 12 months ago by John Proud, a resident of Northam, past editor of the Avon Valley Advocate and a current councillor of the Shire of Northam as well as a valued member of the ACDF Board of management. Many updates since then but suffice to say we are actively seeking new opportunities to fill needs. Mortlock Gardens has been 100% occupancy, with a waiting list, since then and the next 3 dwellings should be available in January 2019. A proud and successful formula - keep it simple, recognise the needs, seek strategic partnerships and assist bureaucracy to flatten red tape and just get things done! Thanks John

23.01.2022 Weve done it again - In this very challenging financial climate ACDF has facilitated another industry into the Avon Industrial Park. Precision Mechanical Industries today settled on a site ACDF had secured and maintained. Sincere welcome to the new owners and may your enterprise blossom.

22.01.2022 Mortlock Gardens - The Avon's unique "Key Worker" accommodation facility: Getting closer and closer to the latest three dwelling completion. Lock-up this week and then the finishing takes over. Great work by our construction team WA Country Builders and their local stubbies. Excellent property management by First National Hollett & Lawrence. Watch this space, more to come.
20.01.2022 We're proud our 15 housing key worker accommodation project at Mortlock Gardens in Northam is at 100% occupancy. We're also undergoing due diligence to grow this facility. And more - also very proud that our strategic partnership with the Shire of Northam and the Northam Chamber of Commerce has led to the Chamber being able to employ a full time CEO and operate from visable and accessible premises at 160 Fitzgerald Street Northam. Pleased the Chamber appointed Esther Bliss as the hands on driver for the Chamber and looking forward to building on our strategic partnerships

14.01.2022 ACDF: A brief early history: Prepared by John Proud. It may seem rather strange that Avon Community Development Foundation (ACDF), the very successful locally driven facilitating agency, had its origins in the home town of rock legend Elvis Presley, Tupelo, Mississippi. In 1989 a group of committed Avon Valley identities gained State Government funding to bring Harry Martin to run a seminar at Muresk Institute in June that year. Mr Martin was responsible for a community-driv...Continue reading

13.01.2022 Not long to go now. the next 3 Mortlock Gardens "key worker accomodation" dwellings are right on track for completion - thanks WA Country Builders
13.01.2022 Mortlock Gardens: With the excellent support of Managing Agents Hollett & Lawrance, we continue to enjoy 100% occupancy at this unique "key worker" accommodation development in an excellent Northam location. We initially planned the first stage for 18 dwellings but "process" took too long and we were constrained to construct the first 15. Now and after much planning, paperwork and lining up the dominoes, we are waiting on approvals to complete the remaining 2 of 2x2 and the... 1 Bed unit. After that we will consider future utilisation of the land balance on the Katrine/Springfield Roads site. Local trades will again be asked to assist in the development. We might appear quiet in the background but ACDF continues to leverage social and economic infrastructure advantages for Northam and the Avon Valley - so far we have leveraged in excess of $35m in local infrastructure! More to come - watch this space! See more

11.01.2022 Here we are at Mortlock Gardens, our 3 new units progressing rapidly. Is there anyone there . . . can we get a like?
11.01.2022 Sitting in my home office today with windows facing Mt Ommaney - the RAC emergency evacuation helicopter came in again, over the house and to land 700m away at the Northam Regional Hospital's dedicated landing site. Every time I hear that sound I chill, yet at the same time feel extremely proud. I recall how the facility came about, the amazing contribution from volunteers and traddies arranged by the Northam Rotary Club (a plague recognises those extraordinary people). And ...then how our not for profit community based organisation, the Avon Community Development Foundation (ACDF), was approached. As CEO I was privileged to have been asked to coordinate the process and funding. How many lives has that facility saved since we built it and it was commissioned in August 2006? As the regional hospital has expanded so has the emergency evacuation facility. I will never forget the community cohesion that made this happen and it wasn't the State Govt Dept of Health!! It was the great support of the then Minister for Agriculture and the Wheatbelt Hon. Kim Chance MLC. Feel very proud Northam and all involved - Thank you. See more
09.01.2022 Mortlock Gardens Northam: What a difference a day makes!
09.01.2022 Our unique Mortlock Gardens Key Worker accommodation complex continues to perform above its weight in a pretty uncertain market. 100% occupancy and we're now planning towards building three more dwellings to meet this specialised market - 2 by 2x2 and 1 by 1x1 - all within this special part of Northam. Paul Tomlinson, CEO, ACDF

07.01.2022 ACDF: The Quiet Achievers. Already $34m+ of real infrastructure. New website coming soon. See more
