25.01.2022 To our section 4 Tuesday ladies team. Congratulations on winning the finals

24.01.2022 Hi all, Hope you're all keeping safe and i guess we all can't wait to take off the mask and go have a hit of tennis. Well here is the latest.... Government have not yet provided a further update for the next step of the Roadmap for Metro Melbourne. We are continuing to advocate strongly for a return to play from 28 September (Step 2), but do not yet have confirmation of this from Government. We will update you as soon as we know more. We will continue to monitor Tennis Vic and our local council announcements regarding COVID-19 restrictions and update members if any of these arrangements need to change. We will also provide further information about the necessary COVID-19 safety protocols that will be needed in due course. We have also heard from NSNTA and NSJTA that there will be no competition this year. AHTC Junior delegate and Night tennis delegate will contact team managers with commencment dates and names for next year. And last but not least, hopefully social tennis may commence after the 28th September if we get the green light from council. Well that's all I have for now. Stay safe and BRING ON THE TENNIS......

24.01.2022 Hi all, We at Avondale Heights and all other sporting facilities in the Moonee Valley district have just been informed by council that we are to close the club due to the situation in regards to the threat of the covid 19 virus effective immediately. All booking via Book-A-court will also be suspended until further notice from the council. Please read below from the council.... Should you have any questions, please contact any member of the AHTC committee. Or the Moonee Valley city Council This email is to inform you of changes to the way council is managing use of facilities, parks and open space within Moonee Valley. Effective from 12pm Monday 23 March 2020, the following activities are no longer permitted to occur on any sport field, park or open space within Moonee Valley Casual or organised sport Weddings Private events Ceremonies of any kind Personal Training Any activity related to a business Any activity that encourages the gathering of people not from your immediate household Any permits, bookings or allocations that have already been issued for the use of space will cease to be in effect immediately These decisions have not been taken lightly and we are aware of the social, cultural and economic impact on our local communities. However, we are concerned the impact will be greater if measures to manage the spread are not effective. These actions have been taken in response to the Government’s stage 1 restrictions.

22.01.2022 Hi all, It's Been I while since our last update and I hope you are all safe and well, what with this Covid 19. But we and all other clubs needed to close to do our part in helping not to spread this virus. But we are still not out of the woods and I know a lot of you can't wait to get back on the court after all this self isolation.... But until we get the green light from MVCC, we must remain closed. And when we do finally do open, there will be some restrictions to be implemented by council that we must adhere to. The Restriction will be posted asap. We all thank you for your understanding and your support and hope this will all end soon. Kindest Regards AHTC Committee

22.01.2022 Hi all, As you may have heard from Daniel Andrews. Starting tomorrow the tennis club will once again be open to play social tennis, but you must still book a court if you wish to play. Also if you haven't paid your membership fees you will be charged when you book to play.... There will be a few conditions, and they are: When you book your time, please arrive on time and leave immediately after your your game. Please do not hang around. And the clubhouse is not to be used. Should a commitee member be at the club, the door will be open to use rest rooms only. Please see below Tennis Tennis Victoria Update Dear Affiliate, We are delighted to have some good news for those of you in Melbourne. Following announcements by Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews today, limited outdoor tennis coaching and recreational play can return in Metropolitan Melbourne from midnight tonight. As always, we must await the Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) legal directions before we can provide the Return to Tennis Guidelines with full details, but here is what we know currently, Metro Melbourne from Midnight tonight: Outdoor tennis courts can reopen - clubhouses must remain closed (we expect toilets will be able to open and will confirm as soon as possible) Groups of up to 10 are allowed from a maximum of 2 households. We don't yet know if this is per court or per venue and whether or not a coach will be included in the 10. You can travel up to 25km from your home to a court, but no further. NB. It is likely local councils will require a COVIDSafe plan before a venue can reopen. You can find a link to the Business Victoria COVIDSafe Plan template here. Some councils may accept a completed Tennis Victoria Return to Tennis Checklist as a COVIDSafe Plan - you can find this on our website here. Metro Melbourne from 1 Nov - as above PLUS: Competition will return Indoor centres can open for under 18s only - no detail yet on numbers of players or spectators allowed Regional Victoria from Midnight tonight: No change other than hospitality arrangements have changed, please assess the impact for your venue here Regional Victoria from 1 Nov: Indoor centres can open for under 18s only - no detail yet on numbers of players or spectators allowed We are now seeking clarity on the detail of all of the above from State Government SRV and will send this as soon as we have it. It has been incredibly challenging for us all and we are so grateful for your patience as we slowly reopen tennis. Thank you for all your hard work and support - we are almost there and we can't wait to see the tennis courts in Melbourne open again. Warm Regards, Tennis Victoria And Avondale heights Tennis Club

21.01.2022 Hi all, Here is the latest from Tennis Vic after today's announcement from our Premier. Dear affiliates,... Like you, we are extremely disappointed by Premier Daniel Andrews announcement that all tennis facilities are to remain closed as we move to Step 2 of the Government's COVID-19 Recovery Roadmap. We firmly believe that tennis, a physically distanced non-contact sport, can return safely to provide health and wellbeing opportunities to support people through isolation and to provide our coaches with much needed income. We know today's news will be very hard to hear, and especially for coaches who need to get businesses back up and running. We are considering our next steps and will continue to advocate for the safe return of tennis in Metropolitan Melbourne. In the meantime, we recommend that every tennis club and coaching business ensures its COVIDSafe Plan is in place so that when we do get the green light to reopen you will be ready to share your plans with local councils. This is likely to be a requirement of reopening. Resources to help with COVIDSafe planning are available here and we are here to help as much as possible during this very challenging time. Regards AHTC

20.01.2022 Hi all, Please see below an update from Tennis Victoria. Further to the email you were sent on Thursday regarding the current restrictions on tennis activity under COVID 19, the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has provided further information on community sport, which some of you may already be across. Please see below the relevant information for tennis.... Our recommendations below are based on the available DHHS Restricted Activity Guidelines Number 12 (Restricted Areas). We expect Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) to publish further detail and we will update our recommendations as required once we have this additional information. We will also contact tennis clubs and coaches affected directly following any further updates from SRV. Strict adherence to physical distancing and hygiene protocols is essential. In Metropolitan Melbourne, anyone playing tennis must Get In. Play. Get Out. All indoor facilities must close this includes all indoor courts, clubhouses/rooms Toilets may remain open if indoors Cafes in club houses can serve take away and home delivery only Community competition must be cancelled until further notice Outdoor courts may remain open for the following: Casual play (public court hire or club members) for members of the same household or for two people from different households.
