16.01.2022 NSW Juniors U18 Rep Rugby & GEN BLUE update With all the continuing changes within the rugby landscape (due to COVID-19 recommendations etc) it has meant th...at NSW Rugby has had to be quite flexible in our plans for 2020. (Not sure if we at Plan E of F at present ) We are going to try to grab Andrew Cleverley from NSW Rugby GEN BLUE for an interview early next week to give us an update of what they are planning and what can (and can't) be done for the remainder of 2020. We know School and Club Rep games were all cancelled but we will ask him about the U18 boys GEN BLUE pathway and what the landscape potentially looks like for GEN Blue U15 & U16 over Oct school hols and beyond. *Note for City and Country players in NSW Schools, SJRU clubs, Shute Shield colts, Subbies & Country rugby clubs. 15.01.2022 The Chief Health Officer has released updated advice for community sport activities, to commence from Saturday 26 September. This advice relates to spectator at...tendance at community sport and inter-region travel for activities and competitions. Find out more at the link below and check with your local club and association to see how this affects your activities this weekend. https://www.sport.nsw.gov.au/novel-coronavirus-covid-19

14.01.2022 Good morning rugby family. Here is the latest regarding the recent letter from NSW Health addressing community sport. As you are aware NSW Rugby, along with... other sporting bodies, met with the NSW Office of sport yesterday afternoon. Post that meeting please see below NSW Rugby’s position and interpretation on the recent recommendation letter from NSW Health in regards to Community Sport. Competitions will go ahead as planned for this weekend Current zone competitions will be the defined boundaries for travel in regards to rugby participation. Any teams playing in a zone competition will be able to travel and play even if that is not your club's traditional zone or local government area (LGA). Travel is allowed across Local Government Areas (LGA’s) to play in your zone competition. Whilst we are able to keep our competitions going there has been some accommodations made to ensure that all the most important part of Rugby (our Club competitions) can play out their respective season. No representative Rugby will be conducted across Country Rugby zones during this period Minimise unnecessary travel within the zone for rugby-related activities ie. Rep training etc. All NSW Rugby State Championships/ Events will be cancelled for 2020 Based on this advice from NSW Rugby the IDRU Board is comfortable for this weekends fixtures to go ahead in both Juniors and Seniors. Specifically for our Zone, the advice from NSW Rugby means; The boundary for the purpose of intra-zone travel is the District boundaries and therefore there is no advice to limit travel between any of the clubs within the zone. Junior teams that are playing in a competition outside of the IDRU Zone are permitted to continue in those competitions. #illawarrajuniorrugby #supportgrassrootsrugby #fortheloveofrugby IDRU Juniors proudly supporting #talk2mebro

06.01.2022 With COVID-19 having affected all the U18 GEN BLUE, Club & Schoolboys Rep programs, NSW Rugby is very keen to make sure that they still offer this cohort of U18... players & school leavers a valid pathway into the GEN BLUE program. As such NSW have moved the GEN BLUE U18 program to November for Clubs so it will not conflict with your club rugby season. Hopefully COVID is vastly improved by then. Country and Sydney will hold separate trials both on Sunday 1st November. At this stage the location for the County trials is still to be confirmed. Further details on venues etc will be released as they come to hand to those who have nominated. So that we give your zone and club rugby players the best opportunity to be involved we are taking nominations (for U18s only please) to make sure we don’t miss anyone please have your aspirational players within your club nominate via the below link. We would really like to ensure that those players that excel within your clubs get the best opportunity to showcase their abilities at the trials. To nominate CLICK HERE https://form.jotform.com/202297913670055 The nominations will close on Sunday 18th October. After close off those that have nominated will receive additional information about the day. Only those players that nominate will be eligible to trial. There will be no walk up nominations accepted on the day. Any questions please give me a call. Kym Knight Secretary NSW Country Junior Rugby Union 0400 356 527
