14.01.2022 ~Anniversary~ This week I celebrated 10 years of being registered as a marriage celebrant. Im not sure where that 10 years went, except when I think of the 160 weddings and many other commitment and naming ceremonies I have been apart of I realise a lot has happened in that time. Ive had two babies and experienced the greatest of joys and losses. The happiness that comes with being a celebrant has kept my faith in love. I cant wait to see what the next 10 years brings.... 10.01.2022 ~Back Yard Weddings~ When I met with J&J a few months ago and they described where they were having their ceremony I thought it would be sweet. I had no idea how sweet. I had some decent competition with the local birdlife chatting away but it was such a beautiful setting. Congratulations Julia and Jason!!!

Huge shout out to Quinn from Radio Club Band - Brisbane who performed at Ann and Lances ceremony this afternoon and is no doubt still entertaining guests into the night. Music is such an important part of a wedding day and live music can take things to another level.

07.01.2022 Well 2020 you certainly haven’t been the year we’d hoped for. Today I got to celebrate H & B’s ceremony at the always gorgeous Gabbinbar Homestead. So that’s a wrap for me....no more weddings booked waiting to see if our Canada move comes to fruition. I’m open to elopements but I won’t be taking bookings for any further than 6 weeks ahead. 06.01.2022 Being a Celebrant is such a privilege (and a lot of fun). We get to share moments in time that are the start of a couples marriage journey. It doesnt matter how many weddings I perform I still get goosebumps and feel my heart will burst. Yesterday my cousins dream came true - marrying the love of her life. It took all my strength to hold back the tears as words cant express how proud I am of her and how elated I am that shes found her peace, place and happiness. Love you Tahlia Ryland

Yet this morning I was set up and ready to greet guests by 10.30am at the beautiful Preston Village Chapel and Manor. Ive known one of the lovely brides for many years now and I was so honoured to be asked to officiate her marriage. Woot woot!!! They took my breath away this morning - absolute true love walked down the aisle.... Congratulations C & C - May you know the happiness you felt today....everyday....forever. Especially on the golf course and on those hard to deal with other people days

04.01.2022 ~Our local heros~ Over the last week we have had a very anxious time with the Pechey fire burning out of control. The thick smoke and ash has been a reminder of how incredibly dry it is and the extreme fire danger everywhere. I was particularly worried for one of my favourite wedding locations The Woods Ravensbourne under significant threat. Thank you to all of the incredible people who have fought these fires and the volunteers who have supported them in so many ways. Im looking forward to a good nights sleep without smoke and the alarm to check the wind direction.
