25.01.2022 Avalon Computer Pals for Seniors calling...Seniors...and well, everyone. IT'S STAY SAFE ONLINE WEEK In 2015 Australians lost $229 million to scams. Nearly 40 percent of scam approaches occurred through email, over the internet or through a social network platform and accounted for 44 percent of losses.... Taking care of your safety online is no more complicated than the steps you take in other aspects of your life. We all do things to safeguard our physical belongings such as locking our doors and keeping hold of our wallets. By taking the same care of your devices and when engaging online, you can protect yourself and your online assets. Best to read the facts from the government's own document and you can do that HERE. With thanks to the federal government's website https://www.staysmartonline.gov.au/

20.01.2022 Christmas party was enjoyed by all.

17.01.2022 Crikey! Where has the year gone? Here we are about to begin term FOUR of 2019. It is time to invite you to visit Avpals at our rooms beneath the Catholic church in Central Avenue, Avalon to secure for yourself one of the 'Rare as Hen's teeth' spots in our one-to-one training. If you are new to this process, here is how it works: Visit us on the morning of Friday 4th October between 9-10am. Speak to one of our very friendly volunteers and find a spot for training with a volunt...eer trainer. Lessons are 45 minutes long and run once a week for the full term for the princely sum of $30. How come it is so cheap? A small sum to cover rent, insurance and power. Everyone is a volunteer at Avpals. Invite your friend to come along on Friday and find a spot that would suit you. DAY Friday 4th October 2019 TIME: 9-10amm More information by ringining 8064 3574

09.01.2022 The Avalon Computer Pals Christmas tree is up! All ready for our party on Friday, December 13. See you there!

04.01.2022 Merry Christmas from all of us at Av Pals to all of you, our students and their familes. Stay safe and see you next year with a whole lot of new stuff to learn and experience....as we all know, it's not too old to learn new things and you CAN teach an old dog new tricks! Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

01.01.2022 The sign-on morning for one to one training in Term one is at our training room beneath the Maria Regina Catholic Church in Central Avenue, Avalon on Friday morning THIS WEEK from 9 am until 10.30 am. That is January Friday 17th. As the first term of every year is our most popular we recommended that you arrive near to 9am. When you arrive you are handed a number and you are allocated a time slot and a trainer based on your needs and the time you arrive! My tip is to get to t...he room as near to 9 am as possible. Our volunteer trainers can help you in most areas involving technology. From setting up your smart phone to editing your photo memories. From safely banking online to cleaning up your laptop. From writing your memoirs to saving your photos in the cloud. There are about 10 weeks in a school term and you get to attend for 45 minutes on 10 occasions during the term. And all of this for the princely sum of $30! (The money helps us pay the rent)
