24.01.2022 NBN PREPARATION Do you realise when you connect to NBN, your existing phone lines become redundant? Once connected to NBN your phone runs from your modem, making your existing phone lines useless! Another point - not publicised, is NBN works much better with a dedicated line to the modem..... all the old phone lines that are now useless can cause interference with your new connection. Where will you put your modem? What will you WiFi signal be like? Do you need WiFi repeaters...? Do you stream to your tv using Netflix, Stan or other media? 21.01.2022 Heres a photo from recent RCD fault we attended. This piece of cable was inside the wall cavity with the neutral touching the earth (luckily not the active) By testing and process of elimination, we replaced the damaged cable revealing the true cause of the fault!!

19.01.2022 EXIT AND EMERGENCY LIGHTS These important lights are quite often forgotten about by business owners. Did you know your emergency and exit lights are required to be tested every 6 months to ensure correct operation? These tests should be documented. When did your business last have an emergency lighting test done? Get in touch and we can help you make sure your staff are safe and your workplace is compliant.

We might not be able to do non-essential works at the moment, but are more than happy to discuss and/or video call to plan, and help design what you need. One of our specialties is NBN setup and communications cabling. If you’re getting NBN connected, did you ...know your existing phone lines won’t work anymore? Are you aware of bridge taps? A common scenario is when the line comes into a property and terminates on a socket in the kitchen. Then at a later point a line in the bedroom is required, so the cable in the roof or under the floor is cut and connected to another cable to the bedroom using 3-way connectors or simply twisting the wires together. This worked fine for old analogue phone but not for data. Data services require a straight circuit between the DSLAM (or node) and the modem, without any other branches going off elsewhere. Even if there is nothing connected at the unused outlets, this wiring configuration will result in lower achievable speeds and sync dropouts. We can renew your cable from the NBN connection to your ideal modem location (not necessarily where NBN told you it HAD to go!) to create a seamless connection for your modem. Do you have WiFi issues? We can help out here. Prefer a wired connection to your tv to get better speeds and avoid buffering?
