19.01.2022 Important changes to employer sponsored permanent residence : English exemption for the Trades 186 ENS and 187 RSMS permanent residence (PR) visa applicants who have completed a minimum of five years of full-time study in English at a secondary or higher education institution are exempted from formal English testing. However, recent Policy changes now specifically exclude full-time study in vocational education and training (VET) courses. As such tradespersons who have been living and working in Australia for many years may now find PR out of reach.
