22.01.2022 As we start NAIDOC Week 2020, baby Geordi is preparing to head home this week to Port Macquarie. Did you know that 15% of the children and young people admitted... to the Children's Hospital in Newcastle identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander? Geordi was born very premature at 26 weeks back in August and has been at the Children's Hospital in Newcastle for nearly three months. Coincidentally, Geordi and his NICU nurse Tarni are both Worimi people. The Worimi people extend from Port Stephens to the Lower Mid-North Coast and out as far west as Gloucester. #NAIDOC2020

20.01.2022 Today we spent our group time talking about the gift of giving. We spoke about how Christmas runs deeper than just giving presents. The beauty of Christmas is Joy. We wrote and drew inside lots of cards to be sent out to our Awabakal Elders (clients of our Aged Care services) and Awabakal Disabilty Clients. We hope our cards bring a bit of joy to our community.... Merry Christmas!
