23.01.2022 We are looking forward to taking part in schools NAIDOC celebrations over the next few weeks. We feel very fortunate to teach and to take students to many places for fieldwork on Awabakal country. Country that always was and always will be Awabakal lands. #NAIDOC2020

23.01.2022 Even though the official Schools Tree Day is not occurring this year, Students from #DudleyPublicSchool joined us in a planting session to improve habitat, plant bush tucker plants and stabilise areas of erosion. The school has participated in Schools Tree Day with Awabakal EEC for the past 8 years, planted over 1000 plants and greatly improved the environment around the Centre. Thank you to Lake Macquarie City Council and Lake Macquarie Landcare for supplying the amazing plants. #NationalTreeDay #LakeMacquarieLandcare #EZECNSW #LoveWhereYouLearn

21.01.2022 A great local community initiative here in Dudley. We look forward to examining the impressive and inspirational work by Fern Creek Landcare in some of our future fieldwork programs. In particular the rehabilitation of the gully and provision of habitat and year long sources of food for squirrel gliders. As well as the surveying, tracking and the estimation of populations of squirrel gliders. https://www.facebook.com/112811803582547/posts/183726559824404/?vh=e&extid=1JQCBuHH0I2TirFK

19.01.2022 Today was the first of 13 NAIDOC celebrations we are hosting with local schools. Each group of students enjoyed stage specific activities that linked to curriculum. The smiles on the students faces said it all! Always Was, Always Will Be.... #NAIDOC2020 #LoveWhereYouLearn #EZECNSW

17.01.2022 We had a fantastic day with Kindergarten students from Dudley Public School investigating the needs of living things. If you haven’t taken your class out on an excursion this year, book an excursion for Term 4! Excursions to DoE Environmental Education Centres are permitted under the current guidelines. Come outdoors and have your students engaged in fieldwork to add value to what you are learning in the classroom. #EZECNSW #LoveWhereYouLearn

16.01.2022 Thanks to the students and teachers from Lake Munmorah PS for joining us on our Stage 2 History excursion yesterday. Students shared their knowledge and had a great day.

10.01.2022 Return to regular fieldwork for Term 3! Yippee! Delivering virtual lessons in lieu of our regular fieldwork programs was fun but we are back in the field and your students can join us! 05.01.2022 The Principal, Teachers and SAM at Awabakal EEC were out hugging trees this week to celebrate National Tree Day. Official plantings may have been cancelled this year but you can still celebrate National Tree Day (NTD). This year the team at NTD are encouraging us to connect with nature. ... Hug a tree and share it on social #HugaTreeforNTD. Or, simply plant a tree in your backyard or pot plant at home. The important thing is to connect with nature and enjoy the happiness it brings. https://treeday.planetark.org #HugaTreeforNTD #EZECNSW #LoveWhereYouLearn
