12.01.2022 Open your eyes and awaken to the truth, it’s literally right in front of you! Read the abstract at least and then check the list below it for diseases associated with Circadian Dysregulation. Why does modern healthcare have poor answers? Light Matters Most http://snip.ly/4fhyyu

10.01.2022 Who sits and leans forward most of the day? I’ve found sleeping WITHOUT a pillow is a great way to get 8 hours of straight spinal goodness... We all use pillow...s today, but it wasn’t always like that, and in a society that is constantly leaning forwards and suffering neck pain, is it affecting our sleep? Today I'm always looking for ways to improve jaw posture, breathing, and sleep. Personally, as a dentist, I spend a large proportion of my day leaning my head forward. The toll on my neck, and back have been considerable, and I noticed that it began to affect my sleep. While working on nasal breathing, posture, and flexibility, I found that sleeping without a pillow helped improve my neck and shoulder pain. It’s one of the many approaches I’ve used to help optimize my breathing during sleep, which many people suffer with. In patients, I see people who don’t sleep well all the time and often report head and neck pain. Interestingly, the height of your pillow increases peak pressures in the cranial and neck regions, while increasing the extension (lordosis) of the spine). Craniocervical pressures and cervical spine alignment may be height-specific. The effect of pillow height on the biomechanics of the head-neck complex suggests that the higher the pillow, the worse the sleep. **some do need a high pillow for medical reasons*** As neck pain occurs in nearly a quarter of the population and craniocervical pressure could contribute to neck pain and sleep-associated headaches, which ultimately results in poor quality of sleep Want to get started? Try these two steps: 1) While working towards nasal breathing and straight cervical spine posture during sleep, it's worth trying a blanket or towel. Unfold the towel over time until you’re ready to sleep without one. 2) Support the rest of your body with pillows. When sleeping on your stomach, put a pillow under your stomach and pelvis to help your spine stay neutral. Place a pillow under your knees when you’re on your back or in between your knees when you’re on your side. Have you experienced neck, jaw, or back pain due to sleep tension and posture? Would you try sleeping without a pillow?

03.01.2022 Hello to all my beautiful followers Sorry I've been MIA for the last few months. Its been a pretty crazy year for everyone and to top it all off we also made a BIG move to Queensland for hubby's work but we left behind our closest friends and family. I decided the best thing to do was to use this opportunity to take time off to settle the family and focus on my health and recharging the batteries. This isn't goodbye, it's just see you later. In the meantime I'll be busy homeschooling the kids and looking into what my next venture will be, I might even go back to studying. Who know's what I'll have in store for you next...
