25.01.2022 Delegates and dignitaries arrive for the final day of South Sudan's National Dialogue

25.01.2022 The forthcoming title "One of his junior wives had deserted him; I was to bring her back. Failing that, Father threatened to withdraw the well over a hundred he...rd of cattle which he had paid for her two years earlier. Either they send me back my wife, or return my cattle, he had said. In fact, I had drafted a letter for my father to that effect. The mission was to be a follow up.I knew that Father did not really want a divorce and that he was using the threat to ensure the return of his wife. After Father left for a meeting of chiefs in the North, I decided to undertake the assignment. I asked my half-brother Zachariah Bol, and our cousin Kooch Aguer, to join me on the mission. Our step-mother, supported by her brother, refused to return home. We took advantage of her refusal and opted for divorce, mostly because we needed money for going to school and planned to sell some of the bride wealth cattle that would be repaid on divorce." They deserve appreciation. I encourage young South Sudanese people around the world to learn about their history and to encourage elders to share their stories of liberation and traditions. Africa World Books can provide services to the people noted by the late Dr John Garang, and now we are capable of delivering books to your doorstep. Africa World Books is delighted to inform the public that some titles will soon be available at Blackstone stores in Juba City, South Sudan, and Nairobi, Kenya. Please contact us for further information. Africa World Books creates books for the love of South Sudan and its people. We thank the authors who share knowledge with us. Africa World Books will work to ensure that their legacies continue and that their ideas change peoples lives.

21.01.2022 President's Address to the National Conference

21.01.2022 MY OBSERVATIONS ON THE CURRENT ECS ECUMENICAL CRISIS IN SOUTH SUDAN: A CLOSER LOOK AT PRIMACY When the body of Christ turns to give canonical statutes more weig...ht than the scriptures, ones would always anticipate a confusion in the church. Without elaborating much on the current crisis in the Episcopal Church of South Sudan and based on my experience and involvement in the ministry, I can only make the following observations. Firstly, the Anglican or episcopalian ( in the USA, Sudan and South Sudan) communion operates like a large franchise where all use the brand name, but every Diocese is independent and can make independent decisions based on it own statutes that are passed by it own synod and operationalised by the regulations developed by the Diocesan Council in each Diocese. No diocese is answerable to any other diocese. However, they may corporate on specific issues. That is why many dioceses do have overseas sisterly dioceses. The highest spiritual authority in the Anglican hierarchy is the Archbishop of the Diocese. No diocese is answerable to any other diocese. Therefore the Archbishop of the Diocese is not accountable to any other Archbishop. Since all Archbishops are equal, they are represented at Lambert Conference, which occurs every 10 years. When His Grace, Rt. Rev. Archbishop Nathaniel missed the 1988 Lambert Conference as he was cut off by war, his seat was left empty as the former Archbishop of Canterbury referred to him as The Lost Bishop, and no one was allowed to assume the responsibility and authority to speak for Diocese Bor even though there was a Primate for the Internal Province of Sudan. Having some archbishops as primates at the national and provincial level does diminish the authority of the Archbishop as the primates are Archbishops themselves. Primacy is an administrative position whose role is purely ecumenical in order to promote the harmony and working relationship of the Anglican communion. The position of the primate has always been mistaken as an authoritative position by many people, including some pastors. In recent years there has been a raging debates on the role of the primate. Basically, primacy is purely a symbolic gift that is given to one Archbishop among equals. If the primacy was really a position of authority, the West African Anglican communion would not have been independent, the Anglican would not have two symbolic primacies, the Archbishop of Canterbury and Archbishop of York. Since many people understand political structures much better than the church structure, let take, for instance, the MPs from Jonglei State have their parliamentary group being headed by an MP whom they choose. Such an MP cannot dismiss another MP. Still, it is possible that these MPs could be politically influenced to gang up against one MP if he refuses to tow a particular political line. Therefore, the primates are there for ecumenical purposes which make it easy for churches to act with unison when responding to spiritual, social or political challenges. But since Africans have an insatiable appetite for power, they started to make statutes that elevate the role of the primate, raising him higher among other Archbishops and that is what appeared to have happened in South Sudan, which should not be the case. The position of the primate should be sustained by mutual respect between archbishops. In advanced countries like Australia, US, UK and many other countries where Anglican has a considerable following, power has been constrained by laws to stop its misuse. We have since many cases where primates have resigned when he or she failed to maintain harmony among thechurches, but unfortunately, Africans rarely resign. Forgetting the nonsense which my fellow Africans do by making every single position look powerful, being a primate is a position of influence and persuasion. The most important and critical position is being the Archbishop of the Diocese as it gives the Archbishop the right to vote at the Lambert Conference which was scheduled to occur in London this year. Secondly, every Diocese can communicate directly with Canterbury or York without going through the primate. Thus, Akurdit may turn out to be a big headache to Badi as he has the support of his Diocese and his right to vote at Lambert has not yet been taken away. Therefore, the current feud between the Most Rev. Archbishop Badi and the Most Rev. Archbishop Akurdit may eventually hurt Badi than he initially envisaged as it will reduce his sphere of influence or the circle of his primacy with severe ramifications for his tenure. I think both Akurdit and Badi should seek a negotiated agreement before the regional house of bishops which may constitute an independent tribunal where parties should aim for a win-win solution rather than going for the politics of finishing-off the opponent. Note: I am making the above observations based on my experience in the church but not on any South Sudan current ECS canonical statues.

16.01.2022 To uncle Kur Garang Deng, thank you so much for this gift. I can not tell exactly how many gifts you have sent to me in the last one year and I am so grateful. ...Joseph Garang Deng-Yom has also received his books. It is good to know the past so that we know how far we have travelled from the era of colonialism to this time of independence. In the book, Ajak Biar Is described as a son of notorious Biar Abit. To me, Biar Abit and Wut-Awulian resisted the colonial regime as indicated by the Battle of Pawuoi. Though we lost many people in that war, we sent a signal that we could not be oppressed easily. Out of anger of the said resistance, came the adjective notorious. In summary, the book is so delicious and I am going to consume it hastily. And thanks so much for the book once more. See more

15.01.2022 Copy from Doryn Mabior Jonglei state youth, What exactly do you gain in cultural promotions? 99% of you dropped education or failed in school and chose to be... traditional promotors. What do you gain? Sleeping with people's wives or impregnating girls and sponsoring abortions with the money your brothers are sending to their wives ? You're the most energetic men of Jonglei who have turned us down, you came here to learn and go back home but here you are jumping up and down. If you were born to promote culture then please go to the cattle camp to atleast dance and watch over our cows, secure our land. 99% of state men can not promote culture both in the villages and in the cities, John Garang brought you into foreign land to acquired knowledge and takes back new things/development but here you're stuck. Some of you are married and depending on your brothers who are suffering in western world, why can't you go back home and do something? Can't you cultivate and buy yourself cows, I mean do Agriculture instead of jumping up and down in boxers! Can't you? Why are you wasting your manhood energy on payless dances? Shame on you! You are playing cards and dancing in refugee camps too, your wives and mothers are the ones selling mandaziz, doing small businesses to support the little UN is giving them. Why are you so disappointing? Was it a curse for you to be born as men? Your achievement is announcing the number of people killed by Murle back home on Facebook, leave the children and women in refugee camps and go back home. If you're promoting culture in Eldoret, Nyari, Nairobi, Kampala and Nimuli go back home and do something, leave those who are studying here. Your culture promotion is not helping us at all. You have a lot to do back home; flood, insecurity and even developing yourself, stop blaming the regime and act. While I'm very good in recruiting enemies, hating me for saying the truth makes me feel so superior. You 99% of our Jonglei men are a disgrace to our floody fertile land

12.01.2022 SECRET OF SUCCESS (3) One of the key secrets of success is "Forgive and forget" because your struggle in life and, for better future mostly is hindered by attit...ude of unwillingness to forgive those who wronged against you or those who put you in some difficult situation of life. If you dont forgive, you will remain bitter and your bitterness will always remind you of the past. This will make you become weary and weak in the thought of mind and attitude of the heart, which leads to your failure. Lack of forgiveness reminds you constantly of your past or situations at hand, and as a result, you find yourself without time to think and plan for your future except grieving and feeling the pains of the situation you were put through by others. Forgiveness is not only the right choice for success but also a principle of success. Forgiveness brings blessings, peace, happiness, and healing to you, which are strength for you to do and, accomplish that which is impossible for you. True innermost freedom only come from forgiveness. If you forgive, then your inner being feels free not only with others but also with yourself. Choosing to forgive does not necessarily mean that those wronged against you must first be sorry and repent of their mistakes and wrongs against you. Sometimes forgiving is not necessarily going to that person and telling him or her, I have forgiven you. It is just letting it go without putting him or her any more in your heart, and reaching again to him or her with love, kindness as well as relating with him or her as if he or she never wronged against you. Forgiveness can take place not only on a verbal basis but also on nonverbal basis through your conducts and the way you relate with or to those who wronged against you. With forgiveness, you are simply choosing to love in spite of the pain you are put through, to humble your pride and to let go of resentment and revenge and retribution. Forgiveness is a principle of gratitude, giving, or meekness which is the key for success. If you dont have gratitude, humility, and generosity, success goes far away from you. The stage to forgive is a time when you are in your own courtroom, a presiding judge over the case that somebody wilfully or unintentionally hurts you and you have to pass your judgments to forgive or not - the choice is yours and yours alone. One thing you need to know is that the choice to forgive is for your own benefit and not for the benefit of your offender forgiveness is a better choice because of its advantages for your success in life. Forgiveness makes you feel free and not to be bitter and misery because bitterness and misery are dangerous heart infectious that may affect your whole being and kill your mentality. When your spirit is infected by lack of forgiveness your life will be misery, and your bitterness will affect your creative thinking. Bitterness is poison to the spirit and mind, and if it kills your spirit and mind, you will no longer achieve what you are capable of doing or achieving in your lifetime. In other words, you become mentally dead. People who are mentally dead are those that are capable of doing something great and better for themselves and the society, but because of certain circumstances of their life, they gave chance for their mind to be reduced to focus only on their miserable circumstance, and cannot think any more creatively. They no longer take chances of their common senses which are power of creativity in humans and an engine for human success. Feelings are part of human life. The need for justice is part of the feeling in which forgiveness seems to be contradicting. This makes forgiveness to be one of the difficult choices and at the same time very hard for humans. Forgiveness goes against your sense of pride because it is lowering yourself to be humble and accommodative to all the wrongs done against you and to let it go as if nothing wrong happened to you. To let it go as if nothing hurts you, and even not suffering from this very consequence of the wrongs committed against you. To forgive someone means to put on the spirit of love, mercy, grace, kindness, truth and humility despite the pains and hurts they put you through. Forgiveness is a beautiful spirit of God. When you choose to forgive those who wronged against you, God becomes proud of you and blesses you with a new spirit of strength and courage to restart a new life of peace and happiness that inspire your success. With forgiveness, you are surrendering yourself, your pains and sufferings - including those who wronged against you to God; and acknowledging Him as the judge of mankind and His will for humans, because nothing that happens either good or bad without His will, and knowledge. In my journey of struggle for a better life and future, I learnt how to forgive. ...... I also prayed to God to make others forgive me where I had wronged them as I forgave others... Forgiveness is very important for your own soul because it releases you from bitterness, and drags you gradually to forget your past and accommodate the present situations and to mind only the future life. If you dont forgive, you wont forget the situation and if you dont forget, you wont find peace inside you. Extracts from Chapter Six of my Book (LIFE MANIA)

09.01.2022 This is an alert to the South Sudanese Government. Changes must be made, lest circumstances worsen. I had a terrifying dream this morning. Rebecca de Mabior was taken to UNMISS compound for safety. Within a few minutes, I heard a gunshot, and an explosion of fire, smoke, and dust blanketed the city. People scattered, some running to the river. Sadly, many people did not know where to seek refuge. The future leader is not preparing for improvements. I fear that South Sudan is ...going to surprise the world with another war that could be prevented if things are handled with care and without power struggles among warring leaders and parties. I encourage those in the cities to move to swamp areas, rural villages, and refugee camps before things get out of hand.

09.01.2022 A big shout out to my childhood friend Dr Edward Eremugo Kenyi for this book. I just finished reading the first story- amazing. I encourage you to grab a copy. Spread the word. Many thanks to Peter Lual Deng for shipping out the book
