13.01.2022 *Bit of a read but worth it* Meet Samier, aka Bubba. He was in a major accident 3 years ago and also sustained a massive stroke and was paralyzed from it. He wa...s told hed never walk again. He proved them wrong. Samier limped into our gym for the first time early last year. One of our originals. His goal was to get a big frame. I said to him after a couple sessions of mobility work, "Bubba, what truly drives you in life?" He said "My daughters" I said, "Lets set some more short term goals that will drive you to achieve your goals" He said, "I would love to play with my children" I said Great, lets do it! 3 months later he did his first flat footed squat, his limp was reducing due to stretches and rolling excersises I gave him. And he was thinking of his next goal before hed achieved his first. All achievable goals. He wanted to get his licence to come more often and have some freedom. This was a much bigger goal, but thanks to my psychologists help we set in a road to achieve this. She was the first to undergo a study and prove neuroplasticity and neuro-reprograming by teaching a man who had suffered a severe brain trauma, who lost the ability to talk, to say "Hello, my name is John". We had 3 things to retrain. His coordination, mind to muscle control and most difficult and much disputed topic, memory retention and attention span. I am now proud to say Bubba has passed his memory and attention portion, all he has left to do is sit the test and he is driving again. 3 years ago he was told hed never walk again. He also plays with his daughters all the time now If this isnt strong, I dont know what is Sammy youre my most memorable and rewarding client ever. When you caught that bouncy ball with your lame hand for the first time in 3 years and that smile on your face. Beats any PB anyones ever achieved with me before. Much love
