08.01.2022 Are you wondering what you gonna do on the weekend? AWI has a very fun tip for you! Queensland State Fair Robina Grab the whole family and enjoy all the best carnival rides (friendly notice: if you want to go on the Freak Out, save it for the end as you may feel dizzy after the ride). Special mention to the Dodgem Cars - so much fun and suitable for any ages - and for the games where you can win prizes There’s also the best show food (we loved the twisted potato’s...!). The fair opens at 11am and goes until late (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). We would recommend going after 5pm, it might be too warm if you decide to go before and the lights at night are amazing. The entrance ticket is $2 and you pay for each ride (average of $10 per person per ride). Have fun!! And don’t forget to tag us in your photos!

On the 6th of October 2020, the Gov. announced the federal budget for the new financial year, Below you will find some of the information announced that relates to the Department of Home Affairs (DoHA): General The net overseas migration will be reduced by 71,200 from the 154,000 people in the previous year (2019-2020), however, is forecasted to increase in 2023-2024 to approximately 200,000 people. The net overseas migration includes all visas subclasses. The yearly migration planning currently set to 160,000 people will remain in place. Out of this, 47,732 people were allocated to family stream programs, but for this financial year alone, there will be increase of up to 77,300 people. For skilled visa streams: certain visa programs such as Employer Sponsored, Global Talent, Business Innovation and Investment will be prioritised. Partner visas Applicants onshore (inside of Australia) and partner visa applications where the relevant sponsor (the partner) lives in areas considered designated regional areas of Australia will be prioritised under the new budget. Sponsorship provisions will be applied, and sponsorship obligations enforced. English Language requirement will be compulsory, not only for the applicant, but the sponsor as well, who will also be required to pass an English language test. Those are substantial changes for the partner visa program Visa fees At this stage, most of the current visa fees will remain the same. To find out the cost of a visa application please go to the visa pricing estimator: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/visa-pricing-estimator Visa refunds and waivers Visa fees/ VAC will be refunded and/or waived for holders of the certain visa subclasses: Prospective marriage visa (PMV), Pacific Labour Scheme and Seasonal Worker Programme, Temporary skilled workers and visitor, and Working Holiday makers. Current visa holders unable to travel to Australia until the borders are opened, will be able to receive a refund on the VAC/ and visa fee waivers. The Visa Pricing Estimator will give you a basic estimate only, based on the information you enter at the time.
