24.01.2022 Have you ever hand-raised an orphaned baby kitten? When they're just days old, kittens can't see, hear, or even keep themselves warm. We're about to see 2,500 tiny kittens flood through our doors in the coming months can you please make a donation to help us buy lifesaving supplies for these babies? This is Aurora, she was a tiny three-week-old kitten when she and her siblings were found totally alone with no mum or owners. Hungry and frightened, Aurora, and her brother and sister, desperately needed us... One of our dedicated volunteer foster carers, Lynne, took in Aurora and her siblings to hand-raise these babies. Abandoned and extremely vulnerable, Aurora could have easily died if she wasn’t brought into AWL. In her first few weeks Aurora needed: - feeding every two hours - constant monitoring - assistance toileting - socialising - warmth and comfort - love and more PLUS, her foster carer found that Aurora was also completely deaf and head a heart murmur. Aurora is a battler and responded extremely well to the specialised training Lynne gave her. Despite her hard start in life and the challenges she faced, Aurora was finally ready to be re-homed. After hours, days, weeks and months of love, Aurora was adopted into a caring family and has flourished in her new home. We're so happy to say that Aurora got the care she needed but we need your help now. Please donate so we can help more kittens about to come through our doors. 23.01.2022 AWL connects pets in need with caring humans to create safe and happy homes for everyone. Our team care for around 9,000 lost and abandoned pets each year. Since 1964, AWL has been caring for stray and abandoned animals, including pets whose owners can no longer care for them. We reunite lost dogs and cats with their human family, provide shelter onsite and through our foster care program, and rehome thousands of animals each year.... For those grieving the loss of a faithful companion, AWL’s cremation and memorial team offer ways to say goodbye and celebrate the joy their pet brought to their lives. Our new Animal Care Centre at Wingfield will help us to provide the highest levels of care for cats and dogs in need. We will also continue caring for and reuniting lost pets with their owners at our Edinburgh North site. Head here to learn more about us: https://awl.org.au
