17.01.2022 Monty and Millie are just 7 weeks old. Because their mother and 4 kittens were living rough, the kittens are not socialised and are timid. These two are the most timid so they're receiving some loving care from a foster carer, and will be in the shelter once they trust us humans, possibly early in 2021. 16.01.2022 Sparkles is a beautiful 10m grey tabby cat, surrendered when her owner could no longer care for her. A heart-breaking decision; a tragic victim of covid-19 impacts on employment and housing. Sparkles will make someone a lovely companion, ready to leave us in about 2 weeks once all vet work is done. 11.01.2022 Gorgeous is one lucky cat. Found in the Mullumbimby Community Garden and brought to Mullumbimby Vet by a kind man. He'd got a paralysis tick off her and realised she was already paralysed in the legs. The vet thought her prognosis good, and we paid for their treatment/care of her. With the approval of Byron Shire Council she was surrendered to us. She was hospitalised for a week, then discharged into the care of a foster carer. Best news of all is the foster carer is going to... adopt her once she has been desexed in a few weeks. ON HOLD, NOT AVAILABLE Ref: 79217 AWL NSW Rehoming Organisation Number: R251000222

03.01.2022 PRIVATE REHOMING Please call the owner on 0422 651803. Located Mullumbimby. Gypsy is a 13 year old microchipped, desexed, tabby & white Norwegian Forest cat. She has no known health issues, and will have sparkly white teeth after a dental on 23rd Dec.... A temporary care arrangement for a friend that can’t be extended due to sale of the house. Her temporary carer is now the owner on the register, to be able to rehome her permanently. There’s a decent time until settlement, so the owner will not be rushing into anything, and anyone interested will be thoroughly checked out. Gypsy settled easily into her new home, took a little longer to trust/bond, and is now very affectionate. She’s a very sweet natured cat, not needy, not fussy, does like routine though (breakfast at 7am please) and sleeps a lot. She likes to go outside briefly, but must be inside at night. She doesn’t cope well with young children, but calm, quiet teens might be ok. Definitely no other cats, but she did live with a dog previously, so may be ok again, with the right dog. 977200007088157. AWL NSW Rehoming Organisation Number: R251000222

01.01.2022 UPDATE: LEO HAS A NEW HOME. YAY!! PRIVATE REHOMING Please call the owner on 0403 180198. Located Evans Head.... Leo is a 4 year old microchipped, desexed, tabby & white boy. Vaccinations and worm/flea treatments are up-to-date. He is used to both outdoor and indoor life (definitely inside at night). He is very affectionate, but prefers not to be picked up too much. He's not suited to young children, and is untested with dogs, but with the right dog, will probably be ok. He's curious about the neighbour's female cats (when some males can be totally territorial). A very reluctant surrender due to moving overseas and no pet flights available. Trying to rehome privately while waiting for space at any rescues. 900079000092220.
