24.01.2022 One of the latest dam upgrades saw AWMA water control gates used to isolate flow into the seepage weir structure at the toe of the dam, for maintenance purposes.

23.01.2022 Storm water is often discharged at our foreshores. AWMA Flap Gates can be utilised to stop the flow of tidal water from entering the storm water systems. Flap gates are backflow prevention devices. Gravity and head pressure are used to achieve automatic one-way flood, tidal or storm water control. Pictured is a foreshore location where 15 storm water outlets discharge into the sea.

23.01.2022 Tilting, overshot water control gates are used for accurate regulation and isolation of flows. AWMA were recently engaged to design, manufacture and supply LayFlat Gates to replace existing, ageing infrastructure which had reached the end of their service life. The new gates were specifically designed to fit into the existing structure, deliver superior seal performance and reduce the need for regular ongoing maintenance.

14.01.2022 Self-cleaning cylinder screens were supplied for the Waikato 50 project. The intake screen design process, was focused on delivering the required flow rate whilst meeting the specified fish and debris exclusion criteria. An internal and external brush cleaning system delivers automated self-cleaning capability. Custom designed retrieval systems were also supplied, allowing safe and efficient inspection and/or maintenance should it be required, without the need for divers. AWMA’s self-cleaning screen system, was well received by the project partners who declared them the best available technology for this application.

14.01.2022 How do you transport an 8m wide, 6 tonne stainless steel structure across international waters and ensure it arrives in the same condition it left in? Shrink wrap it of course! Complete with accessible lifting lugs.

12.01.2022 The new Cohuna Fishway complements the Fish Exclusion Screens installed a few years ago. Together, they not only keep fish in the natural waterway, but allow them to migrate up and down the Gunbower Creek. 12.01.2022 October is Safe Work Month. The AWMA head office and manufacturing plant is located on a 20,000m2 site. Operating a safe working environment is AWMA's number one priority. In-house resources such as this vacuum plate lifter allows fabricators to safely, effectively and independently lift large sheets of material. #safeworkmonth #safetytogether

11.01.2022 AWMA have been announced as a finalist for the Manufactures' Monthly Endeavor Awards. AWMA's Fish Exclusion Screens were entered under the category: Environmental Solution Of The Year - 'A Process Or Technology That Enhances Environmental Sustainability'. AWMA’s development of Australian Fish Exclusion Screens was aimed at reducing the number of native fish lost to pump intakes and irrigation gravity diversions, nation-wide. By preventing fish movement out of the natural waterway, fish species are left in their primary habitat to grow and reproduce - a bonus for native fish, recreational anglers, agriculture and the environment. Congratulations to all finalists. Winners to be announced in March 2022.

06.01.2022 It's National Water Week, a reminder of how imperative it is that our water resources are well managed, well protected and well controlled. For us that means developing innovative water management systems and screening solutions that safely deliver high quality water to users, provide native fish protection and effectively remove debris from our waterways.
