18.01.2022 Even goannas get sick on road trips. When one of our researchers tried to move a Rosenberg’s goanna off Boboyan Road, she wasn’t expecting to also meet its lu...nch a whole Highland Copperhead. When put in a ‘fight or flight’ situation Rosenberg’s goannas will often empty their stomachs to make a quicker getaway. Unfortunately for this goanna it was quite a big meal! The researcher forwarded these images to the Rosenberg’s goanna project. The team of citizen scientists keep an eye on goanna populations in the ACT although this wasn’t the ‘inside look’ they were expecting.
