On one of his walks, he spotted a house with the lights on. He visited the house after fajr, and found a mother who had been bedridden for five years. After discovering that the woman's family could not afford to take her to the doctor, Germeyanglu left a sack of gold coins to help cover all her expenses. ...He wondered how many people were in similar situations and decided to establish a Waqf to take care of poor patients in their homes. He had a judge seal the Waqf papers and eternalized his intention, which was: Whoever becomes ill, a doctor should be sent to their house for examination and treatment. Doctor's fees and medication will be covered through the Waqf. 18.01.2022 HOW THE COMPANIONS COMPETED IN WAQF The Messenger of Allah (SAW) migrated to Madinah and ordered the building of a mosque. The land chosen for the Prophets' mosque belonged to Bani An-Najjar. The Prophet (SAW) said: O Bani An-Najjar! Suggest to me the price of this garden of yours." However, Bani An-Najjar replied by saying No! By Allah, we will not ask its price except reward from Allah. [Bukhari]. The tribe gave their land as a waqf for the mosque to be built. In the 7...th year after Hijrah, after the battle of Khaybar, the number of Muslims increased and the Masjid became too small for the people, so the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: Who will buy the area from the family of so and so and add it to the Masjid, in return for better land than it in Paradise? Othman (RA) raced to buy the land it his money and expanded the Masjid with it. Till this day and until the coming of the Hour, the individuals who contributed to the building of the Prophet's masjid and its establishment will receive continuous rewards. They will receive the reward of everyone who prays in the masjid, performs i'tikaf in it, reads Qur'an in it, learns in it and remembers Allah in it. This is one of the blessings of a waqf. 16.01.2022 When Umar bin Khattab was given land in Khaybar, he went to the Messenger of Allah (SAW) to consult him about it saying, "O Allah's Messenger I received some land in Khaybar better than that which I have ever had, what do you suggest I do with it?" [And in Sunan an-Nasa'i Umar said: I wanted to draw closer to Allah, by means of it]. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) replied, "If you like, you can give the land as endowment (waqf) and give its fruits in charity". And in Sunan an-N...asa'i he (SAW) said; freeze it and donate its fruits. So Umar gave it in charity as an endowment (Waqf) and its fruits were given in charity to the poor people, to the kith and kin, for freeing slaves, for Allah's cause and to the travellers and guests. 11.01.2022 THE WAQF PREPARING DOWRY FOR GIRLS In Istanbul, 1261 of the Islamic calender, a waqf for preparing dowry for girls was established. An example of the cases in which this waqf was needed is shown in the story of a young girl who was found sobbing through the streets as her step-mother shouted, "I cannot mother you just because I am married to your father. Your dowry is none of my business. I will kick you out of this house if you talk about your dowry." ... Two woman from the waqf came to the house of the young girl and told her that they were attendants of the waqf preparing dowry for young girls and that they determine which girls were in need of a dowry.
