23.01.2022 This story is absolutely tragic, and our thoughts are with his family today. Unfortunately, the abuse and exploitation of workers is rampant throughout the agricultural sector, and stories like this are far too common. Unless we want to keep putting workers in harms way, we need real action from the Federal Government to overhaul the sector, put in place a decent industrial relations framework, and end the exploitation of farm workers.

19.01.2022 AWU Queensland Secretary Steve Baker spoke yesterday about the rampant exploitation and abuse in the agricultural sector and the urgent need for tougher regulations to protect workers. It's well and truly time for the Federal Government to step up and implement real reforms to keep workers safe.

Help us send Gold Coast City Council a message by signing our petition to protect local jobs: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GCCC_Petition

05.01.2022 Workers in the aged care sector look after some of the most vulnerable members of our community, but when they needed support the most, Scott Morrison and the Federal Government let them down. Aged care workers deserve better than this.

03.01.2022 It's always great to see recognition for AWU members going above and beyond to keep their community safe. Queensland's hospitals simply would not run without AWU members, and we're proud to represent these members each and every day.
