20.01.2022 Presenters in the scientific sessions at AXAA-2020 will have the exciting opportunity to publish a full paper in a special AXAA-2020 Conference Proceedings issue of Powder Diffraction journal. Powder Diffraction is an international journal of materials characterisation. The proceedings of the AXAA-2014 and AXAA-2017 conferences were both published as special issues of Powder Diffraction, and the AXAA-2020 Conference Committee is excited to offer this opportunity for presenter...s in the scientific sessions at AXAA-2020. Paper contributions are not limited to those containing diffraction-based characterisation or technology development. Rather, contributions are encouraged across all topics and techniques presented in the scientific sessions. Full papers will be due by 31st August 2020, four months after the conference, with publication by early 2021. Papers should be ~ 6-10 pages in length.

19.01.2022 AXAA 2020 will NOT be going ahead on 29 April in the Gold Coast due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) Due to the escalating COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, the AXAA National Council after consultation with other stakeholders has regretfully taken the decision to not proceed with AXAA-2020 at Bond University from 29th April to 1st May as originally planned. The health and safety of all conference participants and members of the community is our highest priority, and the effects of ...travel bans already being put in place, and potential quarantines and bans on public events, means that AXAA-2020 will either be cancelled, changed to an online event, or postponed. We ask your assistance in ascertaining the viability of an online event by completing the survey you would have received within the last 24 hours. We are looking into new dates for a postponed event at Bond University later in 2020 or in the first half of 2021, but cannot commit to any dates at this stage until the trajectory of COVID-19 and its effects can be predicted with a reasonable degree of certainty. We are committed to doing the right thing by all delegates and sponsors in terms of registration and sponsorship fees, abstracts accepted, etc. We are still working through a number of scenarios and appreciate your patience over the coming days and/or weeks in this extraordinary situation as we make a decision about whether to cancel, proceed with an online event, or postpone. Minimising the financial hit that AXAA will suffer through money already expended will impact the decision. But, we wanted to get this notice out ASAP so that you and your organisation can plan accordingly.

19.01.2022 Abstract submissions for AXAA-2020 are now open! Visit www.axaa.org/axaa-2020 to find out more about what is shaping as another fantastic AXAA Conference and Exhibition

16.01.2022 AXAA-2017 XRF and XRF Workshops kicked off this morning, and continue through tomorrow. The Advanced Workshops start tomorrow morning. We look forward to welcoming all our attendees to Melbourne.

16.01.2022 We thank you for your patience over the last few days as we have worked through a number of scenarios relating to AXAA-2020 cancellation, postponement, or changing to an online event. We thank those who completed the survey which assisted in the assessment of the viability of an online event. Based on this survey, an online event is not favoured by the majority of our delegates and sponsors. We have also given careful consideration to possible dates for a postponed AXAA-2020.... Given that the trajectory of COVID-19 and its effects cannot be predicted with any reasonable degree of certainty, this option is not considered suitable. The AXAA National Council, therefore, has decided to cancel AXAA-2020. Your organisations fees (registration, sponsorship, dinner ticket) will be refunded in due course. If you are in a position that you do not require a refund, or are in a position to accept a partial refund to help offset significant costs incurred by AXAA, please contact us by sending an email to [email protected] before close of business on 30th March. After that time all refunds will be made. We look forward to engaging with you again at future AXAA events. Until then, we wish you, your colleagues and loved ones all the best over the coming months in these extraordinary times. Nathan Webster AXAA-2020 Chair, on behalf of the AXAA National Council and the AXAA-2020 Conference Committee.
