We are thrilled to announce that Axial International College Townsville student John Cedrick Villanueva has done exceptionally well and taken out the runner's-up position. Congratulations Cedrick - whilst the top prize was just out of reach this time, your entry - 'Falling into Summer' was rated incredibly well by the... judging panel, out-scoring entries from much more experienced pastry chefs around the country. We are all so very proud of you. The Lakanto Most Outstanding Pastry Chef 2020 competition was open to all chefs, cooks, apprentices & culinary students around Australia. They were required to prepare cook & serve 1 portion of a dessert suitable for use in a restaurant service. The dessert was to include 4 components (not including sauce) with appropriate garnish, showcasing a variety of techniques. Entrants submitted their recipe & supporting photographs to the Culinary Committee & David Wingate from Lakanto for judging.
