21.01.2022 Saving some of the more technical doors and panels untill last, this year. Beneath all the weight and clamps is the beginning of the curved door for the MOJO Homes Pty Ltd built curved wall at Chisholm. The nerves were eased slightly last night when my idea on how to build the framework came together and went to plan.... 20.01.2022 Yesterday's doors, installed and ready for the painter to come through ;) You may notice s larger than normal gap under the doors. 18.01.2022 Media room magic. These panels were installed ready to paint (see last picture) a couple of weeks ago. Knocking on the front door on that sunny Saturday morning I was greeted with the smell of bacon and eggs, followed by "Come in Jase, I've got breakfast ready to roll" (Thanks Andrew)... The media room sits off the side of the open planned living spaces, so the panels needed to be solid to reduce the noise transfer bouncing around the rest of the house when the serious gamers are on the console. 17.01.2022 The local Pluvers were carrying on like galahs earlier this afternoon. I found out why Its hard to feel sorry for their inconvenience, when they can be such jerks on the walk to and from the timber shed back to the workshop after they built their nest and set up a perimeter that includes my direct line of travel.... Anyway, after a chuckle to myself and a "How do you like them apples" directed at the Pluvers. The last of the Morpeth Doctors quarters Oregon is ready for gluing. 16.01.2022 I love my job. Spending yesterday and today in #Orange. Installing 2 doors for some absolute legends of the community. The first of which was the brace panel below, normally a 2ish hour install... ended up running out to nearly 4 hours after being spoilt with cheese platters and some amazing Wild harvested venison and wild pork salami.... 16.01.2022 Efficiency is through the roof this morning. Had an early kick off on an amazing property just a short drive from Singleton. So it back to the workshop to kick on with the Oregon double set.... BUT before I do that, here's the picture set of the oversized NSW Spotted Gum panel from this morning. We had some extra room on the wall beside the bathroom and a heap of extra height above due to the raked ceiling, I added some extra cover horizontally and extended the height so offer a grand finish to the doorway while not over powering the space. 15.01.2022 Yesterday, I spent the day in sunny Branxton installing a double set and single in this amazing home. The Double set was installed over the media room doorway straight off the main entry. With the north facing aspect and having almost 80% of the entry wall being glass having the wider than usual doors overlapping the opening proved to be the best way to reduce the light transfer into the room and created a grand feature to compliment the sunlit space.... Walking through to the living areas was where I was to install the single panel. This panel was to separate the kids play/media room to finish off their own hide way where toys rule and grown ups drool. I need to give a special mention to my new little mate Alfie, for helping me throughout the day. It's really cool to see the evolution of their renovation and what's even cooler on a personal level is being reminded of the evolution of Axis Doors and Panels from the first braced panel, the first sets of hardware and fittings, through the last few years and the subtle improvements and additions that add to the end result.... 14.01.2022 Today's install was the first of 3 doorways to have Axis doors/panels installed for this home which will be a 2 phase project. The first phase was the build and installation of these beauties. Standing at 2400mm tall, they make a grand feature in the master bedroom, closing off the walk-in robe and open plan ensuite.... This was the second panel for two amazing Midwives who, from what I gather (from the time between their build requests) had been discussing options for their home decor over an afternoon shift. This particular door was initially planned to be a totally different design for this space. 09.01.2022 It may have been a cold, wet, rainy Sunday morning yesterday. The heat was on and the glow of the NSW Spotted gum was shining on its newly built wall to divide the original combined living and dining area into a theatre room/teenage retreat. This panel was built to be installed back to front to have the verticle design the feature piece of the panel, to work in with the newly installed kitchen.... The prior planning, by adding the extra timber blocking (not a necessity BUT definetly a winning idea) stiffened up the wall and made the install even easier #MadeByAxis #NSWspottedGum #BackToFrontInstall #VerticleLines #CustomiseEverything

07.01.2022 Today's install began 6 months ago after I found some cedar weather boards being sold online. Unfortunately I missed the first bunch they had, but was able to secure the rest of the house worth . We got talking about what I did in my spare time (Axis Doors and Panels) and what I had planned for them down the track. Well... that quick trip to Hardy Bay turned into an awesome onsite meeting where we planned how I could keep some of the boards aside and transform them into a fe...ature piece once the renovation was complete. The original house was built over 100 years ago and was re-clad using the cedar weather boards by my clients Dad. So it was a pretty cool moment when we all stood back to take the finished product in. With the early afternoon sun shining through the front windows, lighting up the grain of the boards and the fresh smells that come with clean cut cedar. Definitely a highlight, being able to watch an old house being gutted and to reinstall a little bit of the old charm, freshened up and re-purposed. #MadeByAxis #CedarWeatherboards #Renovations #ReturningTheOldToTheNew #ATouchOfThePast

07.01.2022 It was back in early September that #Odog was given some homework to get him thinking outside the box for a panel I'd wanted to do for ages but not had the time to build a prototype. For those who've been following along over the last couple of years, Oscar is a young bloke with an awesome head on his shoulders and a great work ethic. Some lucky clients have had the pleasure of meeting him in person, others have his handy work on display in their homes (reclaimed hardwood pa...nels are his favourite). Long story short... I honestly didn't expect it to work, let alone as well as he made it work. For a young bloke with minimal hands on experience and focused on his senior years at highschool, he blew me away with the dedication he applied to making it happen, coming up with 3 different processes. Without giving away all the secrets, check out the end result. Painted and awaiting decals to finish it off. This is the first prototype, version 2.0 will involve some extra planning as we introduce moving parts and electronics. The panel is built to suit an opening no bigger than 1100mm wide x 2110mm tall. 06.01.2022 A few weeks ago I built and installed this oversized, single panel for a family in Lochivar. The completely renovated lower level of the home was originally stables, used along the Lochinvar stock route. Looking at it now, with all the time and effort the family have put into the space, you'd be forgiven for any disbelief. ... Today it stands as an amazingly styled home, with an equally awesome, welcoming feeling as you step through the door. The panel design was built to give the effect of a double door and installed ready to paint. Fast forward a couple of weeks and here it is. I'm blown away with how well the modified brace design works with the space. Thanks #TeamRobbos for having my in and for your hospitality during the install. 06.01.2022 People are shocked to find out that #AxisCustomDoorsAndPanels isn't my 7 to 4 job. They ask how I cope with working during the day and creating/building afterwards. The answer is easy.... I love what I do and the challenges in both my 7 to 4 role and building doors and panels afterwards. When you get feedback like this, it sends the motivation into overdrive. 05.01.2022 I finished a panel build early last week, so decided to have a play around with some old rollers to offer some other finishes. Check out the "rusted" roller finish. A few minor tweaks to do to give a more appealing but the rust finish will be available moving forward.... **These rollers aren't suitable for the oversized panels, due to their weight limit.** #MadeByAxis #RustyRollers #Rustic #EveryoneLovesOptions

04.01.2022 Another sunny Saturday morning out and about, installing Today's double set (1 of 3 doorways to be covered by #AxisCustomDoorsAndPanels) will be the first install of the new, low profile roller system. So new that I haven't even had a chance to have them embossed with the Axis deer shield. This lower profile cuts down on around 30mm of overhead space between the top of the doorway and any objects above. ... Check out the third picture for a comparison of the previous version. Meaning... even more opportunities to install external sliding doors and panels in more homes and spaces, WITHOUT the need for wall/frame modifications. Keeping the doors and panels looking grander and the moving parts even more modern. #EvolutionOfAxisDoorsAndPanels #AboveAndBeyond

03.01.2022 Well, that's a wrap for the Orange weekend. Hitting the road after a top weekend with some great company and awesome spaces transformed. Yesterday's install was for a home office/study to block off noise from the rest of the house for those end of year cram sessions and the the daily grind that has so many working from home in the current climate.... Built from Spotted gum on the Axis framework, this little beauty weighed in close to 90kgs.
